I saw an expose on the tv about psychics and their tricks. It was an eye opener. I knew they were frauds, but the sophistication of some of their techniques and knowledge of body language and psychology amazed me. How they sucked in intelligent, well educated people made me believe they could suck me in too ! Each one believed the reading was specifically for them, yet each one was told the same basic story with minor changes.
They charge money for readings (there goes the excuse) so if they are for real, why hasn't one of them claimed the million dollars on offer from the sceptics association for proof of psychic abilities ? They are performers, expert performers, nothing more.

I feel that the ones that ask you for money in return for a psychic reading are scamming you, but I am sure that there are people hidden away around the world that have some strong ability that don't parade it around the streets. I feel that it's ignorant to think that all are scams and all are real. None of us know what is at the end of our universe so who are we to tell you if psychics are real or not.

That's two different things. A psychic is a person who has communication with demons - they tell the person stuff they find out. God forbids this type of activity. Note that a psychic can not tell the future - only what is observable by their demon friends.
A prophet is someone who God talks to. He simply forwards the message that God has given him. It can be a word of encouragement, of warning, or of what the future holds - since God does know everything. This is why in the old testament, if a prophet was wrong even one time, he was killed. God cannot be wrong, so if a "prophet" was wrong, he's not reporting God's message.

search on youtube for "derren brown". He is an english magician/hypnotist (with no magical/psychic powers etc. just a good knowledge of psychology). Once you have seen the stuff he can do while admitting he's a fraud, I would be very skeptical of anyone who claims to possess psychic ability, as they probably aren't even as good as he is.

Real prophets had to hide to write scripture and got no MONEY.
Psychics (scammers) take MONEY.
There are real psychics that help the law find murderers though.
I'm pretty sure real psychics get headaches and stuff. It is probably pretty scary for them also.

I believe that their are psycics. but I think most of them are a hoax. Like Sylvia Brown, I think that she just pulls things out of her butt most of the time.
