All school books ever written are biased - although usually it's just politically, and not religiously - that's kind of odd.
What can you do? Just what you have done - recognize the bias, and make your own choice whether you, as an individual, will believe it or not.
If you feel the need to take it a step further, write a letter to your school board, as they have to approve all text books in your district.

This all sounds totally disgusting on the face of it. I wonder how your parents feel about this enforced indoctrination, and whether there's anything that can and/or would do to help.
In the absence of some obvious escape, it looks as though you'll have to go through this brainwashing exercise, BUT - you're not stuck as badly as your predecessors have been: you have the Internet available to keep you in contact with the real world. Join some forums like the Richard Dawkins Foundation or James Randi's organisation, and stock up on ammunition and help to defend yourself.

S.. they have greater selection into what's positioned into the text textile. I tutor in Virginia, and we purchase the "VA version" of books, to experience our standards. I additionally grew up in VA, and had family that grew up in NJ. The background books have been VERY distinctive on the activities of the Civil conflict. I found out greater correct to the battles of the south, and all my cousins have been taught grew to become into slavery grew to become into an undesirable undesirable factor that brought about a conflict. Textbook publishers make money for what they write -- and particularly situations they may be particularly biased.

Well, it seems as if you know both sides, so who cares? If you're reading christian books, that does not mean your memory will soon be erased & you will have no recolection of the "other" theory. My advice is to read the books & then go to the library & read some on other theories & then make your own accesment.

If it's a public school, get your parents involved. Write the publishers of the books. If it's a Christian school... deal with it. There isn't anything you can do about it.

Learn evolution, but keep in mind creationism as the alternate. It won't hurt you to learn about the theory of evolution.

Write down what is expected on tests, to pass the courses and then view this information as--'This is what Christians believe' and decide for yourself what YOU believe.

Go to a secular school. But you'll only escape from religious bias.
