I'm trying to figure out if conducting a search from a search warrent then 2.5 years later finally going to grand jury is a long time for a Federal case?

Essentally, after the search warrent nothing was heard from or about the case for 2.5 years. Seems like a long time to me.

Absolutely nothing wrong in my own opinion. There are always a myriad of delays involved in cases like these.

There is the time it takes for drug analysis; assignment of a federal grand jury; motions of suppression; discovery; and more.

Because you've said "federal court," you must understand you're in a whole different light with procedures that differentiate from those in state court.

Best wishes.
