It would not end racism or discrimination or hatred of other cultures.

In fact, in the scenario you suggest, there would be mass cheating, because many in fact only want to be with "their own".

I have seen plenty of intercultural, interreligious, and interracial marriages that still have hatred.

I know a Polish man married to a German woman who still hates Germans. I know a white woman married to a black man who still hates black people. My filipina grandmother remarried a white American man after the death of my grandfather. He went to Korea. He hates all Asians. I know a Jewish man married to a Catholic woman who hates non Jews.

It is very easy for people to get along as individuals but difficult when taken as groups, especially if you have some type of background being raised to hate certain groups.

It is nice you hope for the end of hatred, but no that won't help.

In my mind, only Jesus is the answer.

i think your crazy! this would create so much animosity.. there would be severe adultry.. there would be so much crime it would be unimaginable. People marry based on common interests such as religion and things like sports, tv interest, spiritual belief, economics etc. Not just based upon the fact that i'm white so i must marry a white man. And lol if you had mexicans marrying germans (good idea) mexicans would cease to exist. Also culture views plays a huge part. Mexican culture, american culture, japanese culture, greek culture, all different. If people marry someone not from their culture and can overcome these obstacles good for them but a lot of the time it is unlikely. I'm not speaking of black vs. white marriages either because despite color blacks and whites have similar cultures.

No there would still be racists you cant force this on anyone. Just because you are married to a person of a different race doesnt mean you are going to love everyone of that race. Thats silly. Its like white girls that marry Mexicans and try to be Mexican. Or white girls that marry African Americans, you dont marry someone to try to change the world. You marry them because you love them .Race dont have nothing to do with love Or the same with any other interracial marriage. Im not against who marrys who,I dont care. Thats not the problem, the problem in trying to force people is a big problem to me. I think it wouldnt work.

Maybe we can start with everyone on earth being obliged to have lunch with another race. How about every other Tuesday? Then they can decide if the like each other enough to get married. Although I think that it might be a hindrance that I only speak English. I might not make a "love connection" with someone I can't talk to.

I seriously doubt it.Believe it or not ,there is racism which exists within the races.I have seen interracial couples who say bad things about each others culture and then turn around and say" Oh honey,so and so is an "N", not you,you have class." The only way to take a bite out of racism is to face our fears we have about each other and address them.Let's say we could all meet in an area where political correctness is not enforced and just talk to one another about different issues such as stereotypes for example. We would come away from it knowing the truth about one another, that's for sure.

I am Hispanic and we already have a mixture of everything. For example I have mixture of Spain Jewish and Arab. And @ the same time im not racist either. But I dont think your Idea would work because people often marry to the person they love, it can't be forced. I know a lot of pure breeded Americans that are not racist , blacks, Hispanics etc.... I totally believe that racism is a individual problem, we cant generalize that all Americans are racist, or all Mexican's hate Americans. That would be so un fair.

I am a full blooded American Indian, happily married to another American Indian. We have 4 full-blooded American Indian children. There are too many mixed breeds in American Indian tribes enough as it is.

Besides there are other ways to discrimate other than race, by class, nationality, culture, sexuality, and disability.

Yes. I've had this idea since I was twelve or so, if people of different cultures intermarried and
bore children it would inherently bring down walls of misguided
ignorant fears and prejudices which in turn would eventually lead
to world peace. But the question is can we sit on that? And if so,
is it tall enough to reach the counter? The industry standard
height of our kitchen sinks and counters requires that the chairs
seat is approximately 24 inches from the floor. Now if the space
that the chair is being used for is higher than that of the
kitchen sink this most often requires that the seat of the chair
be approximately 30 inches from the floor. Everything else is a
matter of aesthetics.

I'm Caucasian and my wife is Haitian. That said, your idea stinks. Forcing people to do anything is not going to solve problems, it is going to create resentment and hatred.

Force never works in a social situation. Instead, almost every person involved becomes a victim and people get hurt. It may sound nice and look good on paper but in the real world it will not work.

No it won't. New groups will form and new hatreds will begin. If you stay in the politics section, you would find that most who claims to fight racism are the most racist. Racism is caused partially from self esteem. Unless you adress that , hatred would always be there. Besides, you could be married to some one and still believe they are from an inferior race. SOmetimes men do that.
