There are two types of muscles, fast twitch and slow twitch.
Fast twitch muscles are used for running. They do not bulk up like slow twitch muscles, which are used in weight lifting.

Muscle is heavier than fat, so if you lose fat and add muscle, you can end up weighing more. That is why weight should not be the main thing you consider.

Your appearance and level of energy are what counts, and running can definitely improve your appearance and you level of energy.

Lean, muscular legs can be beautiful on a woman, so go for it!

running long distances has the exact opposite effect. look at the physique of female Olympic athletes. sprinters are the most muscular, then middle distance then the distance runners.

shapely legs are hot and if a women has nice legs the majority of the time the glutes are just as nice..:) nobody looks good with scrawny, spindly legs

yeah-- you "get" leg muscles
you will weight more, but it will be good weight that will make you look lean and firm and skinny
also, more muscle means more calories burned thorought the day
