I like scotch, particularly Johnnie Walker Red Label. Poured straight over ice, this blend of 30 different, younger single malts (such as Talisker) and grain whiskeys starts off with pleasant, sweet vanilla, peaty notes and has a smoky, warm finish. Red Label is also the quintessential whiskey for mixing.

I drink whiskey and scotch when I am sorrowful.

Bourbon, when I can afford the good stuff.

Scotch, never anymore. I heard from a fairly reliable source that the Kennedy family gets 2 cents for every barrel of Scotch exported to America. You do know that all Scotch is bottled here, right? It comes over in barrels. And since ol' Joe K was a rum runner during Prohibition, I'm not surprised. And I don't want any of my money going to those crooks.

Personlly I drink bourban like after a round of golf or some activity like that. Scotch is for relaxing and that is after all play is put to bed. What I drink is Jim Beam and McCallan.

This was originally from an LA Times article about political parties "microtargeting" voters.
One finding:

"Bourbon drinkers tend to be Republican; gin is more often a Democrat's drink."

Scotch is something we can all agree on.
