Like everyone has said, it is normal. Both my cats do it, its kinda funny to watch them sleep, but dont pet them and wake them up, its ok if they do this. Depending on the type of cat, my male orange tabby likes to be covered up with a tee shirt, it takes some getting used to, but now he can barely sleep without being covered up, and since covering him up, he doesnt twich anymore, maybe he gets a little chilly, and it helps them to feel protected.

Yes, i totally agree with everyone else. My cat of 15 had crazy dreams all the time.
The best advice I can give is, have that cam ready to record, you might get a winner for funny home videos!
~Good luck.

Sounds like he's just dreaming. Every now and then my twitches, and does a whole song and dance number in his sleep. I don't think it's anything to worry about.

Totally normal! The cats do it, the dogs do it, the humans do it, everyone does it.
Two reasons:
1) When dreaming
2) when the muscles relax

It's normal...I watch my cat sleep sometimes and she'll twitch and then wake up. I'm assuming she's dreaming about something...

I just asked the same question...I've had cats before and never noticed this, but my new kitten shivers and jerks when he's sleeping...Everyone said its normal and he's just dreaming. They said he may even meow or run or make noises...Just dreaming...Nothing to worry about.

That happens a lot. It's nothing to be concerned about. He could be dreaming about chasing a mouse or bird. One of my kitties will growl in her sleep!

Very normal, just muscles relaxing as he falls asleep. He's chasing rabbits!!! Sometimes mine will twitch his lips, whiskers, ears, toes and tail all at once, very fast. Once or twice I patted him and he woke up and gave me the strangest look!
