Where is your proof that this will happen?

God will not allow the earth to be destroyed. The scriptures tell us that the earth will remain forever.

Jehovah's Witnesses believe the bible to teach that the literal planet earth is specially blessed and will be divinely preserved forever by the Creator of the Universe.

(Psalm 104:5) He has founded the earth upon its established places; It will not be made to totter to time indefinite, or forever.

The vast majority (literally more than 99.9%*) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

Ecclesiastes 1:4 A generation is going, and a generation is coming; but the earth is standing even to time indefinite.

2 Tim 3:All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

I believe God when he says the earth is standing even to time indefinite. We should listen and believe our Creator not man.

Ps. 37:29: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”

Isa. 55:8-11: “[The utterance of Jehovah is:] As the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. . . . My word . . . will not return to me without results, but it will certainly do that in which I have delighted, and it will have certain success in that for which I have sent it.”

Isa. 40:15, 26: “Look! The nations are as a drop from a bucket; and as the film of dust on the scales they have been accounted. . . . ‘Raise your eyes high up and see [the sun, the moon, and the billions of stars]. Who has created these things? It is the One who is bringing forth the army of them even by number, all of whom he calls even by name. Due to the abundance of dynamic energy, he also being vigorous in power, not one of them is missing.’”

The JW's believe that God made the sun, and therefore can manipulate it, and bless the earth so that nothing happens to it.

Well, according to history, humans have been on this earth about 6000 years (civilization wise), and well in retrospect a "few million years" in Cabo San Lucas seems pretty darn good to me. And a hell of a lot more time than you will be on this "doomed planet."
