The taste of blood does NOT make a dog vicious or aggressive.

If she was anything other than a small dog like that and it went around biting people, it would be put to sleep immediately and would have already been detained in quarentine. Obviously it isnt children if it bit your mother, so waiting to find a home without children isnt going to do anything. It is very very hard to train human aggression out of a dog and you would have to get a personal professional trainer that would likely cost over $100 per session. I know you love the dog, but biting people and having any time of human aggression is just completely unacceptable. Also, make sure you arent confusing puppy nipping with aggressive biting before you take any action - because THAT can actually be trained. Take it to the vet to make sure there arent any health issues causing the problem and then seriously consider putting the dog down if it is biting and showing signs of aggression. And the dog needs to be trained that everything is has is owner by a human. A dog should NOT bite a person when they take their bone away - that is your responsibility to train that though.

First of all you have a breed that has a BAD rep. 90% of the time it is the owner that deserves the rep. But this is something that definitely needs to be addressed immediately.

GET TRAINING IMMEDIATELY!!!!!! Post Signs on all sides of your fence.

In some states 2 in 2 would be very serious offense and cause you serious problems. In most states there is no defense against a dog bite. Even your insurance can be canceled because of the breed. They don't care about the circumstances.

The taste of blood does not increase the chance of another bite, but getting away with a bite does increase the chance of another bite because they got away with it once. If it is not corrected and fast it could even escalate to the point that you may be bitten next time.

You need to curb this behaviour pronto.

Dogs that bite are often ordered to be put to sleep - haven't you ever seen it in the news? It's sad because there's no reason for them to be like this.

You need to keep the dog under control for starters - if he's prone to biting you can't take ANY risks. Do NOT allow him the possibility of getting loose, and when you're out with him keep him on a leash at all times. It's also time to talk to a vet or behaviourist to find out why he's being like this and how you can train him out of it.

Getting him castrated is also important. Yes, sex hormones can make dogs very aggressive - but if he's behaving like this I would guess there's more to it than sex.

Dogs are not put to sleep because once they taste blood they want to do it again - this is a silly myth. It is often because the dog's are too dangerous, like if there are children around, and shelters often do not want to take on agressive animals. If you don't want to risk losing your dog because someone reported him, take action NOW.
