I hope that you don't. I can't stand TV. When my kids were younger I let them watch a couple of PBS shows in the morning, sometimes a little movie, but then the TV was off. Kids are influenced greatly by their surroundings. They learn and take things in even if we think they pay no attention. TV as a background noise will still put all that junk into the childs' head. It also retards the childs' imagination.

no, but studies have suggested that watching it at an early age will "rewire" the brain to have short attention span, among other things.

I can attest to this personally. I have seen it.

My 3 year old sees TV because my husband thinks that is a crock mostly, but I would never let her watch it if I could.

What does this have to do with religion and spirituality? But I'll answer anyway. Having the TV on all day is not good for anybody, including your two year old.

I can't see any redeeming value in doing that. Why don't you turn off the t.v. and read your child a book, take them to the park, play a game, do arts and crafts, etc.

Yes, when brains are developing they form new pathways of neurons. kids who watch fast paced cartoons adjust to it they will bore easily with other things. if you want your child to be well rounded mentally you should expose him/her to different stimulation. like music, childrens foregin language programs, video games, art, reading, etc. it uses different functions in the brain causing more pathways.

It depends on what you watch. If you watch appropriate shows, it will probably melt your brain.

No, but he will get used to consuming vast amounts of information in seconds, and later on, reading a book will just bore him to tears.
