Matthew 24:12........"Because of the increase of wickedness,,,,the love of most will grow cold." It's definitely the way I feel on a daily basis.

Yes. I'm trying not to let it happen in my life. Interestingly enough, a lady posted a question yesterday that "she loved everyone, did they love her?"(Socmum)..She got two answers. Sad, people would rather argue and be out for themself than receive what they really need, love.
Edit: I think people are missing your point. Not that you don't love, but that you see a lack of love in society..

In the NIV translation (which you apparently used), Matthew 24:12 is only half of a sentence, "Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,..." The sentence is completed in verse 13: "...but he who stands firm to the end will be saved."

The Contemporary English Version has a different, but also interesting take on the passage. "12Evil will spread and cause many people to stop loving others. 13But if you keep on being faithful right to the end, you will be saved."

Maybe the world is more wicked today than what it was even ten years ago. I'm not sure. I do know that I am surprised when I so much get a friendly comment or smile from another customer at the grocery store. For me, as it has been said by another, the lack of love of others, their apparent rudeness and coldness, is more of a reason for me to keep bing kind and loving towards others. Sure, I'm human. I have shameful thoughts and actions, but overall I try. That's all God can ask of us. Through grace, God forgives.

Why use only half a sentence? Are you trying to trick people? Mess with their minds? Do you think that they're not smart enough to do their own research and/or read between the lines?

No. I try to be the change I want to see in the world, so I smile at people and I try my best to be kind to them. If you feel Love growing cold, my Child, try smiling more. Notice the little things like a dandelion or a ray of sunshine, anything to make you feel better and pass that on to the nest person. The smile you put in your heart will warm you and then will warm the next person. Be kind and be gentle. Even though we're small and the world is very large, a smile can make someone's day, even if it's only yours. Blessings.

9-13 (NLT)“Then you will be arrested, persecuted, and killed. You will be hated all over the world because you are my followers. And many will turn away from me and betray and hate each other. And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

the love within me has not grown cold, but it will in those who do not have the Holy Spirit within them. It is really talking about 'the world' instead of those who follow Jesus.... the world is becoming increasingly wicked and love for others doesnt exist in many people

My sadness at the state of the world only makes me love people more, because they really don't know what they are doing and they don't realise the seriousness of Christ 's return. I want everyone to know him.

I am the Lord your God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves fo the sea. Isaiah 48

I'd turn it around --

Because love grows cold, wickedness increases.

'Course, that still leaves the definitions of "love" and "wickedness" wide open...
