first it's physiologically impossible to tone muscle, it is always that way. you have to remove the layer of fat over top that covers it's true shape.

performing less weight with more reps does not decrease body fat faster than using a heavier weight for 8-10 reps. training at a low level of intensity only burns minimal calories from fat during training and causes a minimal increase in the resting metabolic rate after training. training at a high level of intensity burns more glucose during exercise but causes a substantial increase in the resting metabolic rate for hours after exercise. use a much weight as you can while keeping strict form for 3 sets of 8-10 reps.

as it goes the more reps u do and les sets u do the more toner u get but also use light weights. like try. 3 sets of 10 and enough weights for you to struggle at the 7th rep. best way to tone. but also eat alot of red meats and fish to get those muscles fed so they could get bigger.
but if you just want to get straight to the mass just hit 4 sets of 7 and struggle on 5. and if you didnt know. also keep in mind you dont get anything out of a work out if you dont rep at least 5 per set.
