We cannot kill collectively as a nation and call it God's will and love our enemies individually and also call it God's will. God isn't doubleminded.
To be a Christian involves an individual choice. So in order to love our enemies, we must love them as Christ said.
I cannot say I love the terrorists while killing them. I cannot love God by killing souls for whom his Son died for.
Coulter calls others who disagree with her godless, but what is godless is to hate and kill and call it God's will. We are living in a time when we need to discern the difference between God and Satan. Whose side are we really on
Jesus told Nicodemus in John 3.17 "For the Son of man is not come to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved."
My question.....how is taking the gospel to the world done by killing those for whom Christ died?
How was killing anyone a victory for the Cross?
Don't say it is getting rid of evil. Bear in mind, it is only Christ's blood that saves from evil

God ORDERED wars... He used Israel to punish other nations and used other nations to punish Israel. With that in mind, it is improper to say that God is opposed to war.

John the baptist told SOLDIERS who came to him “Don’t force people to give you money. Don’t bring false charges against people. Be happy with your pay.” (Luke 3:14) Nothing was said about propriety of military service.

Jesus did not speak of war as something to be avoided, but something that would happen:
Matthew 24:6 “You will hear about wars. You will also hear people talking about future wars. Don’t be alarmed. Those things must happen. But the end still isn’t here. 7 Nation will fight against nation. Kingdom will fight against kingdom. People will go hungry. There will be earthquakes in many places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

Paul's INSPIRED writing probably supports war the most when he talks about following rulers:
Romans 13:1 All of you must be willing to obey completely those who rule over you. There are no authorities except the ones God has chosen. Those who now rule have been chosen by God. 2 So when you oppose the authorities, you are opposing those whom God has appointed. Those who do that will be judged...4 ... The ruler doesn’t carry a sword for no reason at all. He serves God. And God is carrying out his anger through him. The ruler punishes anyone who does wrong.
Colossians 2:10 Because you belong to Christ, you have everything you need. He is the ruler over every power and authority.

...If it is true, as Paul writes, that ALL rulers are appointed by God, then rulers of BOTH (or ALL) SIDES in any war were CHOSEN BY GOD.

I think that you are right in a way, God doesn't call me or perhaps you to war. I do not know if He calls anyone to war, as a Christian. What He has done is prophecied that there would be wars. Wars and rumors of wars, didn't He?

So not as a Chrisitan am I called to war, but as a man who lives in a particular country, I may have to go to war. What God has promised me are many things, blessings in what I do. Just because I may be a soldier in an army doesn't mean that I am going against God. That's not going to happen until that war is fought which is found in scripture. ( Ezekiel 38, 39; Zechariah 12, 14)

War is in the bible and God actually told the people of God to rise up and take fearlessly because he was with them, when they sinned they lost the war, but those were Gods people. the Lord Loves us all but he still Called the Israelites to war it may be the only way to defeat terrorism besides prayer. People Need to be praying for those in the war, I truly believe the reason USA is still there losing because their is no God being glorified in this war the other wars may have been won when the nation was Christian but now that they have rejected God they are left to themselves..
and that is just a thought....

Calls to war are issued by nations and not by religious edict this is also true in Islam as their religion is their political system.
Christians are called to be good members in their countries military and to do what is necessary for victory.
Liberals who reject God and the Constitution follow whatever moral path seems the best for assuring political victory.

Yes there are times when we are called to war as long as the reasons are just (i.e. our own defense or the protection of others). Yes you are right in that we are called to love our enemy, but not at the expense of either ours or anyone else's life. If you were attacked would you not defend yourself? If someone else was being attacked would you not defend them as well?

Now if you become one of the people you are fighting against then that is a different story...TLB

Those who call themselves Christians and attempt to rid this world of what they consider to be evil in order to make it a better place have a very distorted view of the mission that Jesus gave to His followers. They do not understand the very basics of His teachings. "My kingdom is not of this world."

I'm not Christian, nor do I support the religion. However, I do think that you have expressed something closer to the intent of Jesus than the many who profess their faith, but speak and act in opposition to it. I like your point of view better.

Well said.

This would be a very different world if all Christians actually lived Christ’s message.
