I believe that our bodies grow old and eventually die, but our souls are eternal. Our souls always have and always will exist eternally. When our bodies die in this lifetime, our souls move into other dimensions. And our souls existed in other dimensions before. We don't remember our previous existences once we incarnate into this lifetime because there are distortions in this dimension (Earth currently exists in the 3rd dimension) and when a soul enters it, it forgets. There are ways to clear the distortions and remember in this lifetime, but it's too complex to go into here. And this is not the place for it anyway.

"Belief/believe" are the key words. Belief, of course, is not a conviction, but basically hand in hand with faith. I respect 100% whatever one chooses. It's difficult, (if not impossible), for some to comprehend that when they die, their energy/soul/spirit simply vanishes. I would LOVE to believe in reincarnation. Then I wonder, in what form might it be? Another human, another animal, a plant? Pure life/energy? I've had experiences (altered state of consciousness) that indicate, to me, that I have "lived" before. Not anything that could be associated with knowledge of place or time, deeply embedded & rising unpredictably. The same person/s recurring. What could this mean? There is far more that we don't "know" than what we know. I'm totally open, not "fixed." As I recall, someone referred to the oxymoron of "life after death." Perhaps that is exactly what you mean, or perhaps you could mean "existing" after death. A very provocative question. &, of course, I live "this" life fully, but that doesn't preclude the question you ask. I don't belabour it, yet it's fascinating. Some have an immutable belief in heaven or hell. Maybe that gives comfort, as to a question absolutely answered? Also, as to near death experiences, certainly children have no role model to emulate, so why is it that all of them appear to be the same? I look forward to your anwsers.

Not sure if there is life after death. I believe that we should live this life as if it is the only one we get and do our best to make this world better for all of the beings that share our existence. That's how we can live forever, by helping those who suffer and sharing our happiness.

Robert B... how interesting it is the compliments you give to a young lady at least half your age... lol Kind of like fitting a square peg into a round hole hey!

Anyways back to the question...

Everyone beleives in different things, so therefre everone who writes an answer is bound to think there either is or is not life after death based on their religion.

(for the record I dont beleive in God, never have but as of late, and looking back over all the horrible events in my life, Ive realised that God is a sweet idea! (not sweet as in sweeeeeeeeeeet, I mean sweet as in a novel and beautiful idea.

While I dont beleive in God, the thought of all the inspirational words in the bible and the comfort God brings to so many people who in some cases dont have any other hope to look towards, I think its great. Due to this Ive come to accept the idea... something that makes so many people happy can not be bad at all)

I dont know if I beleive in life after death but I do beleive there is something, FAR GREATER than ANY OF US realise out there..

I think everyone is on the right track... and in the grand scheme of things, the little religious groups (buddhism, islamic, catholic etc..) know they are looking for something but they havent found it yet. Hence they have ended up with lts of little groups, with different values, all trying and striving towards this greater being. None of them, in my opinion are right.

There is something out there, but I nor anyone else knows what it is and I think thats the way its meant to be...

Everyone wants to think they are right and therefore choses their little religious niche, but the big picture is far greater.

Due to a personal experience I had when I was 15, I can say with certainly that there is something bigger than we think. Wether it be spirits or something I am not sure. I had an experience which is completely impossible to explain, and no it wasnt any pschic or anything, it was just me and my best friend.

I reckon that something happens to us when we die, but I dont think it is called "life" (as in LIFE after death) but its defiantely something....

I would be inclined not to believe but I have read some very good books about the subject and I have some belief. If you read the good books on near death experiences you might be persuaded [ I know I was ] by the experiences of very young children on the point of death, or who subsequently died. Because they have on pre-conceived notions, I find their testimony very persuasive.

Yes, I believe in life after death. I don't believe there is a hell. I just believe there is only heaven. I believe even Hitler gets to go to heaven, but he will be a different soul in heaven and that God released all of the demons from him.

I feel that right now today we are living in the last days and times (Revelations). But I lived my life on a De Ja Vu since childhood. Therefore, I feel as though I've been here before and that I will be back again after I'm dead but not gone.

I believe that we are spiritual beings on a human journey. We are not supposed to sit around dreaming about an afterlife, we are supposed to be learning and growing in God's spirit right now.

Spiritual beliefs? A complex question. It would take too long to answer that. Religion? Is that what you mean? Buddhist...and I would like to think reincarnation happens but we shall see.
