ABSOLUTELY--- ESPECIALLY IF IT'S BEEN WELL MAINTAINED!!! Consumer reports will say it all. Mercedes, Volvo, BMW's and most European cars have dropped significantly in reliability and dependability over the past 10-12 years while the Japanese (Acura, Lexus & Infiniti, Toyota and Honda) cars have surfaced as the most reliable rides on the market. But, for the best answers, look it up on either JD Powers, Edmunds or Consumer Reports, where you'll get feedback from >10,000 owners of these cars as opposed to the opinions of 5-10 car addicts here..

Yes it is. I went to the Lexus dealership by my house and they showed me a 1990 LS 400 with, if you can believe it, 550,000 miles on it. The car also had the same engine/mechanical parts, same interior, same everything it came with. I was very impressed, but that's what you get with Lexus.

Here's a really interesting fact about the LS400, the 1998 LS 400 has better reliablitlity and fewer problems than a 2006 ML500. So, the answer to your question is that the LS400 is a great car to own!

I would say yes, depending of course on the condition is in. I am a fan of Toyota/Lexus and my family owns a 1995 toyota camry and a 2000 4runner, the camry has nearly 200k on it and runs very well!

I'd rather have a reliable gas guzzler than a PITA unreliable fuel efficient car. Example Mini Cooper with the transmission failure around 60k miles.

yes, it's better than riding a bike, well if I had a Lexus I would own it because I think that it's a cute little car and that it would fit me.

I could get into long, lengthy answer, but to but it real simple, yes. Just be warned it is a big car, a V8, and it takes premium fuel, so if money for gas is an issue, be warned.

i sold my first lexus to my cousin, and he sold it to his brother -in-law who then turned it over to his son. 2 accidents and 380k miles later, it's still in EXCELLENT mechanical condition. It's a guzzler but it rides like dream, the cabin is so quiet, its eerie. its a 1994 LS400.
