Typical shopping list...to refresh the essentials and fresh produce every 2 weeks-ish includes:
Bread, Milk, Feta, cheddar, eggs, salad mixes, chickpeas, avocados, 1pk hamburger or ground turkey, 2 types of pork and 1 type of steak or chuck, 1 pack of boneless chicken, juice of some sort, granola bars and sandwich fixings for the week's lunches.
When it comes to restocking the pantry I go for things like various shaped pastas, butter (i usually freeze 1lb and put 1lb in fridge, olive oil, flour, sugar, canned veggies, powdered ranch dressing, mayo, mustard, ketchup...

I feed a husband and 2 teen boys every week, so my list is extensive! I try to shop the sales so my list varies from week to week, and I make up a weekly menu list based on the sales.

Usually 3-4 types of fresh fruit, 3-4 types of fresh veggies, salad, etc.
Several types of baked good, doughnuts, bread, muffins. (The boys don't eat much cereal for breakfast, they prefer baked goods.)
Various types of canned veg., soup, pasta sauces, PB&J, pasta, boxed dinners, tuna, mac & cheese, etc. Hot and cold types of cereal. Tea, coffee and filters.
Meat items on sale: chicken, pork chops, sausage, hot dogs, pot roast, fish. Lunch meat for sandwiches.
Ice cream, frozen veg., frozen pasta and dinners, frozen breakfast items.
Eggs, yogurt, different types of cheese, OJ, milk.
Cleaning and laundry items, TP, paper towels, tissue. Personal items, shampoo, soap, etc.
Limited cookies, munchies, soda.

I also bake cookies, desserts and breads from scratch or mixes when I have time.

It's pathetic, but I track this in Excel. A quick glance tells me butter, milk, half and half, red onions, lemons, ground beef, salad mix, and garlic. At least that's what I seem to always be buying.
