Please see your vet. OTC stuff doesn't work. This isn't something where you want to go cheap. A lot of the overseas stuff is counterfeit. You've seen the Viagra and Cialis spam haven't you?

1800petmeds.com

For my cat's insulin, it is the cheapest. And it is a prescription - I need the vet to sign off on it before they will fill the order.

Heartworm medication will need to be by prescription also. They will contact the vet to make sure that the animal has had their yearly heartworm check and that it is ok to fill the heartworm preventative medication. Flea and Tick you should be able to buy from them without having the vet contacted, but check their prices. It might be cheaper to purchase those kinds of items by the vet (this way you will save on the s/h charges).

It's always a good idea to double check the pricing. Sometimes it's a bargain, sometimes it isn't.

I'm not sure of where the cheapest place is to get them, my vet is really inexpensive and I get my kitten treated for like $11.50 a month...but you shouldn't just look for cheap because some of these products are really dangerous for animals...There are some flea/tick medicines that you can buy over the counter that are known to cause seizures for animals. Just search around, or even try ebay because some people that have had animals and bought a supply of the meds and then the animals died or they had to get rid of it will sell there meds for cheap just to get some of their money back.

Bargains are good most of the time, but there are some instances where it isn't. Pet medication is one of those areas. The best thing to do is go to your vet. When you buy medication from other places, it is often not guarenteed and not of the smae quality as from your vet office. Flea medication that is not good or used incorrectly can cause seizures or death. Buy the medication from your vet, or at least talk to him/her. There may be options that are safe, but less exspensive.

Call your local Humane Society and ask for a cheap vet in your area. I was referred to a vet that sold the meds for 40% cheaper than all of the other vets in my area (and i called like 15 of them). The vets try to follow guidelines, so that they can all sell the medicine for a certain price and there is not much competition from other vets undercutting the prices.

However once in a while, you will find a vet that doesn't care about the guidelines. They are ok for buying meds and annual checkups, but I wouldn't skimp on important stuff like surgeries.

Over the counter medicines like flea products dont work, although they say they are very good. really, they arent, being a veterinary nurse myself i would advise you not to get them and go for the reliable products such as frontline, drontal etc! try vets 4 pets, they are a cheap veterinary surgery that may be in your area (you would have to search google to find out) or maybe the PDSA could help? Havin said that, have you checked at your local vets? the products they sell may not be as expensive as you may think or maybe they could arrange a payment plan?

Whatever you do, don't get petshop stuff! It's just not worth the cheapo prices it sells for.

By online if you must, on the sites suggested on here, but you should be aware you're taking a gamble. Online stuff is cheaper because there's no guarantee on how old it is, if it's been stored/shipped properly, or if it's even the genuine article. You don't know for sure what you're getting, so personally I don't think it's worth the gamble.

I always buy my flea treatment on eBay. I switch back and forth between Frontline Plus and Advantage. There are a number of sellers on eBay who sell those meds for a very deeply discounted price because they send you a vial of medication, a syringe applicator and instructions for correct application.

I've also purchased tapeworm medication on eBay.

I've never had a problem *knock on wood* =)

go to google.com and type pets medication. Once you get a bunch of site, compare the prices. That, or you can go to froogle.com
