That R&S forum means a DISCUSSION about religion and spirituality, meaning we can discuss how stupid it is while they discuss how great it is? I mean, you never see the atheists whining about all these "believers" in the R&S section. Is that proof of lower intelligence in believers?

Killing people...sigh, that's religious people's answer to everything!

I disagree, the religious have been treated with kid gloves for far too long.

I wouldn't say it has anything to do with intelligence...... i mean, they believe in a giant imaginary friend..... we already know they're not the brightest bulbs in the box..... I think it's more about pride & fear of having their beliefs criticized.

One moment they'll say that it's ok to be criticized because "jesus said" that many would hate them & blah blah blah.... So they "expect" it...... but then they snap & their pride takes a hold & they start thinking that they're the only ones who deserve to be here... even though it's an OPEN forum for EVERYONE to come & answer/ask questions.

They're as hypocritical as their religion is... we welcome all.... ummm except.......

Kermit:
Actually, Dumb@$$..... realise can be spelled either with an S or a Z. Either way is correct.

Most atheists aren't really here to discuss, and the YA forum wasn't really meant to be a discussion board, anyhow. It was meant as a vehicle for people who know something about a particular topic to provide answers from their knowledge to people who ask sincere questions. For instance, if I want to know what the best dog food for my pup was, I'd ask in the dog section of pets, and get an informed and reliable answer.
A great many atheists actually come here to bait and taunt believers. Then, when they get reported for their behavior, they whine "Yahoo is unfair to atheists". How ridiculous. As if nobody else in YA ever gets violation notices but them.
If you have a serious, real question about religion or spirituality, this is the place to get an answer. That is what this forum is intended for.

Actually that is incorrect, however Yahoo cuts some slack on the matter due to mutual acceptence by all parties.

This is NOT a blog. Yahoo makes that perfectly clear in the rules.

This is QUESTION and ANSWER

Discussing STUPDITY is an opinion and an opinion is not an answer unless it qualifies as an educated opinion.

Techncially, if we apply the rules as they would be applied to say the MATH section, 85% of the questions and answers here should be removed. But Yahoo has chosen to let this area have some latitutde as long as it doesn't get out of hand. They don't have to do that!

The whole of Yahoo! Answers is a discussion area of sorts, not just R & S. Yet people get bent out of shape if someone posts an answer that isn't to their liking or general belief in any section, and they will make noise about it. That doesn't necessarily make them idiots for complaining (although some of them are). It mostly makes them intolerant people who easily find offense in the smallest of things, and then choose to complain loudly about it. This would include you since you are intolerant of them and choose to complain about it to the point of calling all of them stupid for doing so. Pot. Kettle. Black.

Calling people stupid will get neither side anywhere. Best to post some actual ideas without calling names.

That is, if people are even interested in persuasion. For the ones who just want to be pissy, go ahead, and hope you don't get reported. But it's boring the rest of us.

Let's say you get one dude every hour asking why atheists give a crap about Religion and Spirituality. Now, I ask you - how smart do you have to be to assign his question to every theist on the face of the earth?

They have these new things now called Venn diagrams. You should check them out - they will help you with logic related to categories.

Yes it is true that you have freedom of speech, but why not express it in your own questions after all this service is called Questions and Answers and not Questions and complaints, At no time I called any one names I don't stoop to their level and anyone who posts outside of the question is violating the terms you have agreed with upon signing up name calling and all that is childish and some people just haven't grown up yet

It's proof of arrogance and the inability to carry on a discussion without resorting to name-calling and shouts of "You're going to hell."

I'm a Christian who appreciates the discussion, and will try to answer questions about the Christian faith whenever asked. And I will always strive to do so with the utmost respect for those who do not share my beliefs.

I wish more of my fellow Christians would join me in that, but they're likely to just say that I've given in to the devil or something.

Discussion of topics do not bother me presently. Just be aware that the Jews (Deut. 10-20) and Christians (Matt.18:16, 2 Cor.13:1) were given the 'two or more witnesses' principle. (One witness could be a false witness; man; oneself). A 'decision' for each of us is the one witness or two or more witnesses; (combined with scripture 2 Tim. 3:16-17). I believe presently combining those texts; one realizes the 'old testament' is not Genesis-Malachi, but the law of Moses. (My witnesses available via email request currently).

You are right. This is a discussion forum. It is not a place to call people dumb or of lower intelligence.
