Your dog vomited bile. Give him all the water he wants. You may want to cut back on how much food you give him if he vomited more than once, just to give his digestive system a break.
If he continues to vomit, you may be looking at a more serious medical problem. But usually, it's nothing.

Again and again, dogs eat grass because they like the taste. They are omnivores just like us. They vomit it up because it is not digestable. In smaller amounts, it will just pass on through the gut.
The yellow, foamy stuff is bile and is harmless. Usually, this is a sign that he has gone without food too long and the acid is irritating the empty stomach. Feed your dog as usual. There should always be fresh water available to your dog.
If the problem persists (vomiting several times a day), then there could be a problem and your dog needs to be looked at by your vet.

My mom has a sharpei and she throws up yellow gunk all the time. She eats grass just like your dog and eventually ends up with a mess. Sharpei's have very sensitive stomachs though, you didn't say what type of dog you have. It may be a breed that has a sensitive stomach like the sharpei does. What my mom does is feed the normal diet, and if that keeps bothering the dog, the food may need to be switched to a sensitive stomach type of food. Make sure the dog is not getting ahold to scraps... that is usually what causes many stomach reactions in dogs. Also make sure that this throwing up is not accompanied by strange or sluggish behavior, or along with the excessive poops. This could be a bacteria. (if this is happening...bring pup to the vet for antibiotics) My mom's dog had a bacteria once from eating the canned pedigree brand food. With all this recall going on, you never know if the food is to blame or not. Good luck to you and Fido.

I never heard that a dog is sick when they eat grass but when my dog throws up yellow foam I feed her a raw egg for an upset tummy. A vet told me this when I was young and has always worked. Feed and water as usual. If they keep throwing up they may have eaten something they shouldn't have. Take them to the vet.

Dogs will usually eat grass when they have a upset stomach. Of course we never know if the dog has gotten into something or if they are coming down with something?
If he is acting like he is feeling OK then I would try and feed him a small amount and see if he keeps it down. I would go ahead and give him water.
If he doesn't keep the water and food down you may want to take him to the VEt. to be on the safe side.
You never know now days with our dogs???
Good Luck

All the dogs I have had have vomited like a yellow foam from eating grass at one time or the other. Dogs vomit more than we do and it is not as uncomfortable for them as it is for us when we humans vomit.
As long as he is acting normally feed and give him water as normal. If he acts lethargic or otherwise differently, then I would take him to the Vet, but it sounds like your pooch is fine..

Grass helps their digestive system. Throwing up after eating it is common and won't hurt your pet. Give him a little food after he throws up and always have water available.
I know dogs who eat grass and throw up if they are not sick. It's more of a way to comfort the stomach (like how some foods give humans bad gas and diarrhea). A good idea is to get some of the grass at pet stores. It is healthier and you don't have to worry about your dog swallowing bugs or pesticides or anything.
The yellow foam, in case you don't know already, is stomach content. Don't let them eat it again, because many will try.

Don't worry it is just stomache fluid called bile. We have it too. Dogs throw up sometimes. It doesn't mean they are sick. They eat grass to calm an upset stomache and help with digestion. If the vomiting increases by frequency call your vet.

My vet always recommends taking the food away for several hours, then feeding him only bland food, like canned chicken and white rice. Then, at his next meal, give him canned food. The next time moistened dry food. The following time give him his normal dry food.
Also, the yellow foam is bile.

its ok if they do that it happens a good bit when you have a dog and dogs are always going to eats grass somtimes its because thier stomach is upset but others are just cause they want to and all somtimes they throw up and somtimes they dont it all depends on how their stopmach is feeling that day so dont be alarmed if your dog throws up unless it has blood in it
