Life in heaven is spiritual because bodily none can reach the heaven. Heaven exists within the core of the sun where temperatures exceed millions of degrees centigrade. No soul atman can survive in temperatures less then that. Our soul atman primarily is a spirit... a source of boundless energy. None can see the soul atman within the heart. We can only feel its presence.
When the mortal body dies every soul atman immediately tries to manifest a new body. If matching parents are available it manifests one. If matching parents are not available it hibernates in heaven provided the residual balance of karma is positive! A negative balance of karma earns a seat in hell. Heaven is an interim stage in the cosmic life cycle of a soul atman.
No soul atman can directly go to the kingdom of God (aka Baikuntha in Hinduism) from the kingdom of heaven. Every soul atman has to finally gain the form of a human being... seek enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha). It is only then the soul atman liberates forever from the cycle of birth and death and goes to the kingdom of God... a point of no return! but there is going to be a beautiful city with 12 gates so as far being a spirit body a gates would be pointless

We believe it because Jesus said it when explaining why there will be no husbands and wives in Heaven.
The human body is temporary, mortal. It is not going to survive death.
We are all spirit at our core/soul. At least this is how we define it, who really knows what God is, but this part of us that we call soul is in His image. The body is merely a temporary home.

Because ,Paul uses that to describe the new body in I Corinthians 15.He just means the new body will not be made of earthly clay like it is now.

To be present with God, we will have to be in our Spiritual bodies to be able to withstand the Glory of God.
The light of His Glory is so brilliant that we would not be able to see Him and live.
