If you are reading the bible to find faults in it, you aren't going to find God. That isn't an honest heart after God. That is trying to prove to yourself the God of the Holy Bible isn't.
Jesus said that if you seek you will find. Also that without faith, it is impossible to please God. Those who seek God must believe God Is, and is a rewarder to those who diligently seek Him.
Why don't people diligently seek God with an honest heart?

Breakfast Monkey. You are lying. If you had an honest heart seeking God, you would find God.
But of course that would have to be the God of the Holy Bible without the extra apocryphal books in the Catholic Cannon. Or without the Mormon book or without the JWs extras or without the Koran...

If you were truly born again, of Gods Holy Spirit, then you would have the anointing that leads you into all truth. The Spirit of God is One Spirit & doesn't contradict the bible but brings one to truth in the Bible. Purchase a Strongs Exhaustive with the Hebrew & Greek root words to compare with the King James

Fuddles, one needs a heart trying to find God. God reveals himself in the bible. That isn't so much the law & conscequences of sin. The wages of sin is death. That is the ultimate conscequence & everyones physical body dies. But seeking God is really trying to find God honestly from their heart. Some of the Old Testiment is difficult to understand without the Holy Spirit, the anointing of the Spirit of Truth. But God is revealed in the Old Testament. Also, the devil & murderers & all the bad things. Where is God in the Scripture.
But today, it is Gods Spirit who reveals in our Spirit God, when we are seeking God honestly. Gods Spirit is a sense of Love & peace in the air. Though love & peace might be in the air, spiritual warfare may also be felt cuz satan is scared.

Glitterki... When you see faults that means you are looking for faults and not who God Is.

Thats what I used too do. I used to find faults, roll my eyes, make stupid comments about the bible.
It wasn't until I was sincere, and I was in a situation that meant god--death, God found me. I asked him, he came too me...in a way that I would understand, and only I would know that it was real.
Then I started READING the bible, and realized that there are no faults. All of the "faults" I found weren't faults at all...and were about a certain story in the bible, the fault, actually made it work too the best.
when I honestly looked, I honestly found

I'm reading the Bible, full-stop. What I find in it is what I find, I'm not looking for anything in particular. Actually I'm quite disappointed, I thought there'd be more stuff that actually made sense in terms of realistic moral arguments. I mean obviously all the "thou shalt get stoned with stones for looking through your left eye at a camel after sunset" stuff is irrelevant to our lives now. But I'd heard that a lot of the "right and wrong" we take for granted as ethical, social beings was listed, but I haven't found it. Though Proverbs has some interesting stuff.
You seem to be saying that an "honest heart" is one which already believes the Bible is the word of God. Why I would I be seeking God if I don't believe in the concept? If I were to find God through reading the Bible, now that would mean something, wouldn't it?

"Why don't people diligently seek God with an honest heart?"
Because he doesn't exist, so that would be dishonest and a waste of time.

Wow - you've got a lot of nerve calling someone else a liar here. You really need to work on your arrogance problem. Any "god" who promotes this kind of behavior is not anyone I'd bother with at all. If God approves of your behavior, then I'm better than God.

you've been on my acquaintances record for sometime now. I genuinely have continuously respected your element of perspectives. Your God, my God or, even The God is a personal decision. Presumptuous christian is a smug one. Im no longer that in any respect. i do not ought to help claims. I in basic terms attempt to stay by them. you're so proper, it truly is an argument of decision. happy to be certain your are properly. Rosa

Well, there you are. To ask the question is to know the answer.
You have to believe first. Some of us can't, anymore than you can decide to believe in invisible pink unicorns. I know you don't like that analogy, but that's what it's like from my perspective. Can't. Do. It.
Anyway I like the Tao much better. I have issues with the Christian deity and had them ever since I was a small child who really did want to believe.

because somewhere in the back of their mind- because of our society- people are brainwashed from the day they were born--- they truely dont believe in god
it is verry hard to take the jump to be completely faithful to a 100% point, only because god is not a physicle being. there is not a godly element standing before us that we can actualy see hear feel or smell, it is hard for society to grasp that our "spirit" can see hear and feel our heavenly father
deep down everyone has that little doubt thus they try to seek a way to maybe disprove the bible, or disprove anything to do with it.
just keep on believing sorry i misunderstood the question! i came back to edit

In other words, in order to believe in God, you have to read the Bible believing in God, and only then God will convince you that he's real.
Cart before the horse.
Unlike the common Christian conceit, many atheists were theists at one time. We just were able to take a step back and look at religious claims objectively and realized the nonsense that they were.
Why don't you look at the world with an honest heart instead of wearing your Jesus lenses over it?

If God exists, why doesn't he make an appearance in the real world and put an end to all the guesswork?
According to Christian lore, God was a miracle-making fool a few thousand years ago. Where has he been? Is he camera shy?

Yeah, I found him I used to be a Christian. The more I got to know your god the less I started to like him. I didn't start reading the bible trying to prove it wasn't God's word, I did just the opposite. I was trying to convince myself that it was real.
I convinced myself right out of being a Christian in fact.

We as Christians aren't supposed to judge one another. You're generalizing that peope don't diligently seek him. You must be talking about someone specific you know, right? Well, it's their journey and we are noone to judge what's in somone's heart. God Bless.
