I'm 17, just over 6" and about 17 stone,wanting to lose some fast!

But I want to start weight training also and move onto body building, that's my ultimate dream.

But I'd like to get quite slim and quite ripped as soon as possible, I'm willing to put the hard work in, I'm just not sure where to start?

Like do I need a good diet? Where would I get plans for one etc?

Any help would be great, thank you.

find calorie/fitness calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
dont try to lose more than 1-2lbs a week - its not healthy to lose more.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have lean meat (protein) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min, light weight training
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, past etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried - no junk food.

well, at your age you really don't need to lose too much weight unless you are dramatically over weight, but if you want to lose weight make sure you watch your fat and calorie intake, don't consume too much sugar. "you need fat in your diet!" Some vitamins are only fat sollulable. weight lift or do some sort of cardio every day, preferablly both. Also, late night eating is a no!
