Tony was upset for obvious reasons. If you were a driver going thru what some of them go thru, you would find yourself in this position every now and then. I've read thru the comments on here and it's funny how some people are so quick to judge, but if it's their driver it'd be a different tune. Here's what I think. Everybody gets caught up in anger in the heat of the moment sometimes, and for obvious reasons. Some drivers gripe about everything, when there's nothing to gripe about. I don't see Tony as one of those, usually when he speaks he's speaking truth, no matter how he says it. He tells it like it is. But like everybody he's not perfect, and from what i've seen, when he gets in those moments when he says things out of anger, he later apologizes and admits it was out of anger and frustration, which happens to all of the drivers every now and then, but not all of them are man enough to admit it later. Think about that.

NASCAR in the name of competition is using "debris" cautions as a way to close the field. In doing so NASCAR says it is more exciting races. In the long run it just changes the out come of the races.
On his radio show Tony compared NASCAR to "pro wrestling".Which is what it is becoming.Same stuff week after week the competition NASCAR strives for is not there.
Not saying it is fixed but there are too many debris cautions at inappropriate times.Sure debris is a problem but use some judgement before throwing a caution.

He was upset with NASCAR. NASCAR keeps on throwing these "debris cautions" and Tony said on his radio station that he didnt want to blow up at the camera and say ssomething he would later regret. He also said that the whole point is to race and by throwing these cautions hes not letting them race and all this controversy and everything is good for the sport but if one of the biggest names in NASCAR is complaining then you gotta listen even if you don;t agree but sometimes those debris on the track can hurt the car and NASCAR knows what they are doing contrary to what everyone says.

He's had the best car at half the races he's been to this year (Daytona, Atlanta, Bristol and now Phoenix) and is getting extremely frustrated that he hasn't won yet. Combine that with his driving screw ups and run ins with various drivers and he is on the verge of one of his famous meltdowns. It's a little too bad he couldn't have stuck around to at least talk about the historic race (#76 for Gordon) and his role in it. He could have talked about Sr even if he didn't want to acknowledge Gordon's accomplishment. He was probably pissed that he will be remembered as the guy Gordon battled for the win. Anyway, I guess it's better than Smoke punching somebody and having to do more anger management counseling.

He didn't want to go to anger management classes again. It was an emotional end. He gave his all and it still didn't work. At that point all his emotions and energies were on red alert. I give him a lot of credit for knowing his limits. Good boy or bad boy, give the drivers a little breathing space. It was Jeff's time to shine, not Tony's. There are more races to come. I am a Jr. fan.

Let me ask you this. How can one of nascars top drivers,
Win two Championship, win 29 races, climb the fence,
and make millions of dollars turn out to be Nascars biggest Jerk. Remember back in 2005 when Jeff Gordon won three races in the first half of the season, and then he just struggled from then on, did he start bad mouthing nascar. No he raced on, and now he is the points leader. And if I can recall, from late 1996 to 1997 Dale Earnhardt struggled not winning a signle race in 1997, did he bad mouth Nascar did he threaten to retire, did he turn into a big cry baby, No he raced on, in 1998 he won the Daytona 500 in his 20th attempt, and he almost won his eigth Championship back in 2000.

That surprises me that Tony said he didn't need to talk to the press. It is not a contractual thing, but a mandatory thing that the top-5 finishers speak with the media.
Nascar Now said that he would be warned, and not to expect it again.

I think Tony's issue was Gordon pitting under caution and getting the lead, right? (I am not a Smoke fan so I haven't paid that much attention to all of this) I have to agree with Tony that it doesn't seem right. But, Vickers explained it pretty well on INC the other day. I still don't have to like it, though.

it can't be "the caution"..he knows the rules and gordon clearly took the lead when tony pitted, but,he wasn't happy with that tough break, gordons lucky break(a little frustration)....i think it was the fact that he overcame that, took the lead momentarily, only to have gordon out drive him and take it back(frustrating)...tonys a competitor, and i believe he felt like he let his team down(even more frustrating)...then just finishing 2nd again,he's had a winning car a few times, bad luck and just getting beat,,,no wins after all that(extreme frustration)....soooo,no big deal, the man was just not in the mood to be interviewed at that highly charged moment....

He is upset at the so called debris that always seems to appear when one of the hendrick cars is in trouble. At Bristol I dont know how many times jimmie was about to go a lap down, and NASCAR throws that phantom debris caution, and low and behold, Jimmie never went a lap down----SHOCKER!!!!

Because he's a big baby and he can't stand that he got whipped on the track by the 24...

Oh, and he's not having a great year so that's when he's always in crybaby mode. He'll probably be having an altercation with another reporter or a fan again pretty soon.
