if you were married at the time of birth in most states that makes you the father until otherwise proved. get a DNA test and if it proves it is not your child then you will have to sign away your parental rights. that's what my brother had to do when he and his ex wife divorced in tn.

How do you know the child is not yours? Go to family court and get an ordered DNA test. That will stop all money going to the mother...or maybe just stop paying her until you find out for sure (cold hard proof, not just that you don't think the child is yours.) If the child does turn out to be yours though, you will owe back child support. Just stick it out until you can get a court date. Good Luck!!

How old is the child, and how long were you in his/her life? That’s the decision maker right there. If you have not been any part of this child’s life then get a court petition and fight it. Dont let yourself get scamed. But don't be a bad father either. My step father raised me from the time I was 3, until he and my mom divorced when I was 14. I had unofficially used his name and he was the only dad I ever knew. He refused to pay child support on me despite all those facts. I have a word for men like that, but I won’t say it here. I will say though that men like that should be ‘gelded’. I don’t care if you absolutely hate the mother, think about the child. So few men do. Don’t lay down and let the lady scam you for your money, but DON’T be one of ‘those’ men either.

Why are you paying child support for a child that's not yours? You need to get a DNA test done now! You also need to find out what what child support laws apply in your state. She's really evil for trying to make you pay for someone else's child.

If you haven't adopted this child, then she has no legal hold over you. If you are court ordered to pay child support you have to fight it and prove you're not the father.

Get up get a DNA test and prove yourself right.....

If you don't stand up for yourself who will?

best wishes

you need to contact the court clerk and attorney on your child support order and file to stop child support and have the court order a paternitiy test...ASAP. Did you just find out the child wasn't yours....I'm just wondering why you wouldn't have had this done at the time the child support was initially ordered? Good luck to you!

were you married at the time the child was born? that makes a big difference. are you named father on birth certif? if so did you sign it as such and if so you are screwed unless you do go get a dna test and take it to court , even then if you are on the certif and were married at the time of the birth you may still have to pay even if the child is not yours. good luck to you.

did you legally adopt the child? if so, you have to pay. if not, did the courts know that you weren't the bio father? you can get a paternity test done but if you still see the child and are part of their life, reconsider.

take a paternity test, that will prove that the child is not yours and you will not have to pay childsupport; but if you were seeing the child then you will no longer get to see that kid anymore
