I really pity some of you guys.....esp. the one who says "most of us were Christians". I really doubt you were.
Have you guys ever stopped to wonder why we Christians make so much noise about Jesus? Almost as if we are children with a new toy?
You can't get to where we are without believing first and that is the problem with most of you........without Faith...........I weep for you.

What? Are you outta your mind? I've spent years and years as a seeker, reading the Bible (twice), reading the book of Mormon, and constantly praying my heart out with absolutely no results. Finally, I realized I was never going to believe, no matter how hard I pretended. I've been an explicit atheist for 51 years. Do you have even the slightest idea how insulting you are?

I tried it for most of my adolescent life... the result was me becoming an Atheist.
I challenge YOU and all believers to open your minds and try to think logically about the fairy tales you put so much faith in. I challenge you to think differently than the way your book says you should think. Jump out of the line of lemmings and be independant.
I'm not going to say write back because I know that this challenge is too hard for you. You cannot survive without your imaginary god..... and you won't even try. Typical of religious types.... "I don't care about your opinions..... try it my way & you'll see i'm right! "

You've gotta be kidding.
Like most nonbelievers in the U.S. at least, I put in years of that nonsense with no results. Why would I waste another week?
Think that's narrowminded? Then ask yourself why you don't try praying and talking to Odin for a week. I gave the Christian god 20 years. I'll bet you haven't given Odin two minutes.
==============
Er, name-calling doesn't help your case, kid. It's impossible not to notice that when Christians' beliefs are challenged, they almost always immediately resort to childish name-calling. Doesn't the fact that you can't defend your beliefs tell you something about the quality of those beliefs? It should.

A typical Christian presumption. Atheists are frequently former theists who searched for answers and only ended up with more questions than when they started. Unlike the Christian conceit, not many of them were "traumatized" out of belief. We searched, did research, and actually asked questions that many theists simply take for granted. In the end, the pseudo-answers that religious dogma provided simply did not reflect reality.
No magical visions or inspirations, no mountains moved, no covenent kept.
I challenge you to reject your superstitions and dogmas. Write back in a week...

The only prayer a non-Christian can pray is, "Lord help my
unbelief", but they were given free-will by our Lord to reject Him
if they want. All we can do is pray that something will happen
in their life to change them before it's too late.

Sigh. Frankly, how insulting. You insinuate we HAVEN'T looked for god.
I came to Atheism out of bible college while translating the koine greek. The last thing I expected, literally, was to become an Atheist. I have searched harder for god than any believer I've met so far.
Because I didn't come up with the same conclusion you did, doesn't mean I didn't look.

I challenge all believers to not talk to God for a week, and to completely ignore him and live your lives like he doesn't exist. Write back in a week and tell me if it made a difference

I challenge believers to do some actual thinking for themselves and question the existence of any deity(s) for a week, and see what YOU come up with!

A lot of nonbelievers here on R&S aren't looking for God. Why would you ask them to look for something they don't want to find?

I challenge ALL the people in religion to do this (God's Will):
Create a private, personal, direct, divine Relationship with Our Creator and save your Soul from religion.
Love and Believe in Our Creator;
Love and Believe in Yourself.
Only with Our Creator's Love and Peace will we be Truly Free!
