There are ways to repair the tank. It still needs to be removed and cleaned to be repaired.
Personally, I would install a new tank. I have repaired a few but have never had a fix that lasted more than a year or so before it started leaking again.
Gasoline is one of the most combustion prone agents known. Why take the chance of killing your family or those around your vehicle if/when it "goes up".
Have a new tank installed.

I had a 92 dodge dakota plastic tank repaired and the truck burned to the ground 24 days later,but the co.payed for it !!

Yeah, you will have to replace it!
I have never seen a repair attempt work out for very long.
The tank is made of plastic.

Most fuel systems have plastic tanks these days there is not much you can do to repair these new tanks sucessfully.

Maybe you could just fill the gas tank up until it starts to leak out then stop pumping fuel.

from gm's standpoint,the tank cannot be repaired.thats why it's stamped/molded right on the tank NON-REPAIRABLE the fuel tank is a MAJOR safety issue. sorry but you should replace it

it is part of the fuel pump assembly some of these you can replace just the sensor others you must replace the entire assembly I would need your VIN to be sure if you email me the last 8 digits I may be able to help you out

Its not going to hold gas long if there is a hole in it.

Sounds like you are out of your warranty so if your question is should you have to pay for it, the answer is yes!

This is not a toy, and nothing to play with!!!!!!!!!! You run the risk of fire, or explosion!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a certified mechanic replace the tank asap. I wouldnt drive it until it is repaired, you are risking yours and other peoples lifes.
