I keep my hair simple-- straght and I get it cut about once a year. I towel dry it (while scrunching it) then I brush it out and scrunch it again then I brush it out again and let it air dry. On days I don't wash it, I ponytail it. I've tried colorings and some styles, but it seems too much work. Plus, this cut/look has worked great for almost 30 years. Why change a good thing?

Anyway, it's my understanding that a good hairdresser will only do a cut/style if s/he thinks that it will look good with the client's face shape, hair type/texture, etc. The one time I paid over $10 for a hair cut, I did not get what I wanted. She acutally cut the underhair, the stuff at the nape, to the nape. I wanted it thinned I think (I've yet to get my hair cut without the person commenting on the thickness), but not cut off. Another time, I paid closer to ten and still didn't like the cut. Before we moved, my husband and I used to go to a unisex guy (he did men's and women's hair, but we thought he was questionable, though great fun to talk with) who charged only eight dollars. And I liked the cut every time.

Usually, I figure a couple of inches cut off and it won't be too bad. Occasionaly, it's too short for a ponytail, but with a little water and scrunching, it fluffs up nicely.

I hope this helps.

I'm lucky that my hairdresser is also a good friend and she knows what i want without even having to go into details!

She does refuse to put ferrari red streaks in my hair (like i have asked repeatedly) coz she thinks im trying to relive my teen years...hehehe

It all comes down to how good the hairdresser is...she should know what will suit your face !

Yep like the Jennifer Aniston hair cut of the mid to late 90's? Yes I had that one. It was hard to do and looked crap if it was done bad!
