Yes guys can get a yeast infection the same way women can. In fact guys are more suceptable to them i think because of the way they "clean" themselves after urinating, it leaves moisture for the bacteria to grow in. Either stop having unprotected sex or , better yet, stop having sex with him until he gets in to see a doctor and gets something to clear it up. Also sometimes those over the counter medicines for a yeast infection don't work so good and you have to go through another treatment in a week or so after the first one. It might be best if both of you go in to the doctor at the same time and take the treatment together.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

I dont think that he could get a yeast infection all though i may be wrong but he can carry some of the infection which when in you could infect you again. i would wait til its completely gone then get your groove on some more but just wait until its gone for sure so that its not an ongoing thing and will be easier for the both of you!

in order to be sure to get rid of your yeast infection , please see your doctor or gynecologist;
if you would like to read an article on this , do so at this page :
Does my sexual partner need to be treated?
Although it is rare, you can transmit a yeast infection to your partner through sexual intercourse. If your partner begins to develop symptoms of a yeast infection, talk to a doctor about treatment options.
How can I avoid getting another infection?
Here are some things you can do to help prevent another yeast infection:

Don't wear tight-fitting or synthetic-fiber clothes.
Wear cotton panties.
Don't wear pantyhose or leotards every day.
Use your blow dryer on a low, cool setting to help dry your genital area after you bathe or shower and before getting dressed.
Wipe from front to back after using the toilet. This may help prevent the bacteria that normally live in your rectum from getting into your vagina.
Change out of wet swimsuits or other damp clothes as soon as you can.
Don't douche or use feminine hygiene sprays, deodorant sanitary pads or tampons, or bubble bath, and avoid using colored or perfumed toilet paper. These items seem to affect the balance of acidity of the vagina and can lead to symptoms of a yeast infection.

Okay, one thought is that you could be allergic to his semen. This does happen. But if you have been having unprotected sex for "years" this is unlikely. In addition, he may be the carrier of the infection if he doesn't wash the head of his penis and the foreskin well. Usually it is not transmitted sexually BUT, it is possible. Are you certain that you are the only person he is sexually active with?

If you don't start using condoms and birth control, you could catch something called pregnancy, and the effects of that will last much longer than an infection. Why don't you try wrapping it up?

Yeah. You guys are going to keep passing it back and forth until you both get rid of it. Quit having sex until it clears up.
