Depends on a lot of factors, type, size, etc. I had one filling crack and fall out from a piece of gum. That filling was about 16 years old!

It depends upon who did the job, what kind of filling used, how well the cavity wa cleaned etc . Once when I tried a particular type of Indian Sweet which uses gum as an ingredient along wth the first bite the entire filling came off!!!

If done properly, it should never go away. It should stay in the tooth for your whole life. You need it in there to keep the tooth healthy.

i dont think they go away i think they have to stay to fill the cavity

they don't go away unless you go to a dentist to get them taken out!
