Religious extremists and their Lemming followers have FAILED miserably at giving the human race ANY "dignity" as far as I'm concerned.

No because the human race has already lost its dignity with religion. Look at the the majority of civil wars (past and present) and you will find the underlying cause is religion, besides the fact that you worship an invisible man/woman in the sky is pretty indignified itself.

To prove my point: We don't need to look up to the sky to help other people of the human race. We don't need to preach about religion in order to help people. We just do it.

Will you appoint yourself as head Christian basher elect. You think of yourself as a monster in your poem feeding on bodies, what dignity do you have in mind for the human race-cannibalism?

No.
They can only hope to regain their own lost dignity.
They'll need to give up the notion that trying to shove their non-belief down other people's throats through taunts and jibes at people of faith is a good way to "make them think." It really makes them look just as foolish as any other group doing the same thing. Insisting that other people think the same way you do and then calling yourself a "free thinker" actually exposes the speaker as being very narrow minded.
But you really can't blame the atheists. They've been brainwashed. They've been indoctrinated to believe that they, and they alone, have the "truth". So, naturally, they feel a need to spread their gospel.

Historically, it has not done a very good job at that. Take a look at the way people were treated in the only atheist countries that have ever existed: USSR, Red China, North Korea, North Vietnam and Cuba. The human rights violation that happened in those countries was an atrocity.

I'm hoping so...eventually. But it seems that the religious fundamentalists continue to try to keep the rest of the human race at their level.

Where's it at? Who stole it? Were the police notified? At the very least, was Inspector Gadget informed? He's always on duty, you know.

:) Interesting question, but I'm not sure the human race ever had that quality in spades to begin with.

No, but they can help by treating with dignity those who do not share their views.
