A company called Prosper.com has loans available for people with credit scores as low as 520 and you can get a unsecured loan from $1000 - $25,000 with no cosigner. They can help you out with your loan for your wedding.

I'd say yes but if you've already filed for bankruptcy, I'd think really hard about opening a loan. I'd concentrate on my personal financial situation. Since you say your credit score is 641, I'd work over the next 12 months on trying to improve my score before going in debt on a wedding that may or may not last. Ask yourself how much of your own money can you put towards your wedding before applying for a loan.

The last thing you want is repaying a loan for a marriage that has dissolved. Think really hard about what you're doing before going in debt over a wedding.

Use your head. You just had a bankruptcy last year and now you want to take out what I can't imagine would be a small loan??? Does your fiance realize what she's getting herself into? And if she's just as bad as you, you two are pretty much doomed to fail. Quit spending money you don't have and work on rebuilding your finances. If you feel you must get married now, go to the county courthouse, get married by the JP, have a small backyard cookout for close friends and family. Don't have a wedding with all the fixings when you obviously can't afford it!

Uh....If you just had a bankruptcy why would you want to take on more debt?? Why would you want to start off your new life with someone in a hole? Either save up and wait, or have a very small wedding. Lots of people have a very small wedding with just family and a few friends. Later in life when you are more financial stable you can do the big party then. That's what people used to do. They have a small ceremony in their church. Later in life they would have a big gala.

Don't take out a loan when you just got out of bankruptcy.

I must agree with the first 4-posters. The quick answer is yes, but you do not want to start out your new life in debt for a wedding.

After a bankruptcy you need to re-establish your credit first and foremost. This can be accomplished several ways including installment loans paid out for at least 12-months and credit cards paid off in full every month for at least 12-months.

The quick answer is YES. But until your score is at least 720, you won' t be receiving the best rates.
NOTE:
If you are planning on getting a mortgage shortly after marriage..getting a loan to get "married" is the worst thing you can do.

Depending on the amount your marriage loan; this can put you out of range for a mortgage due to a possible high debt to income ratio.
I would advise you to get a mortgage FIRST, then you can always take out a second mortgage on your home if necessary, to pay for your marriage. Good luck.

If you were BK last year, and getting a loan to pay for a wedding, you need a check-up from the neck-up.

No insult intended, but, statistically, you will still be paying off your wedding loan well after the marriage is over. Get a wedding that you can afford cash, get a grip.

A large, unsecured loan 1 year post BK? I doubt it. Your score might be good, but the BK will outweigh it to a lender. Sure, you can get a credit card, but it'll have a small limit. And the interest rate...even IF you could get a loan, the interest rate will be high...unless you can secure it with an asset.
