Hello

As long as your vet has certified her as healthy with no medical problems and all the vaccinations are up to date I wouldn't worry. You're giving her a healthy diet and exercise.

You may just have a low-energy dog. Believe it or not dogs(as well as other animals) have energy levels.

We ourselves have a chocolate lab who is now 13 and other than eating (his very favorite thing to do) and exercise spends most of his time sleeping. He will on occasion go out to bark at something if the other 2 dogs are barking but prefers the restful and energy conserving life style. :) (he always has, his whole life)

Now having said that my husband has had labs in the past the lab he had before this one wouldn't hold still for nothing he was always on the go. Digging in the garden, chasing birds, running about. So it really does depend on the dog.

If you are really concerned ask your vet for her advice or if there could be medical problems if the lab hasn't been check recently. If you live in the states or warm weather countries and even now starting in southern part of England make sure she has her heartworm shot as well as vaccination for lime disease. But as I stated above as long as she is up to date on all these things and vet has said she is healthy then try not to worry.

Hope this has helped you.
All my best to you.

I wouldn't worry. The vet is happy with her and she is getting plenty of exercise and without you there i can't imagine she would be too lonely. Maybe she is just tired from all the walking etc. My dog just goes to sleep whenever we're in the house not doing anything (just watching TV or something) but then as soon as we get up and do something she gets up too. if we're out of the house and come home she's always asleep. I would just get regular check ups with the vet for a while if you're still worried.

It just sounds like she's tired after her long walks you are giving her. My golden retriever is exactly the same, If he's not playing, eating or out for his walk, he's asleep in his bed, he absolutely loves it in his bed, perhaps your dog is the same. As long as your vet is happy with her and there's no obvious signs of illness I wouldn't worry, remember a tired dog is a happy dog!

I have a labrador - they are the laziest dogs known! You have had your dog checked out and declared to be healthy.

You give her lots of love attention and exercise - frankly what more could a dog want?! She sounds very content and well behaved to me.

Congratulations on being a perfect owner!!! Don;t worry and enjoy your dog!

Some thyroid disorders can be cured, but many require lifetime treatment. Learn here https://tr.im/q15Y5
For example, sometimes early stage thyroid cancer can be cured by surgery to remove the thyroid gland, but you will need to take thyroid hormone medication afterwards for the rest of your life. Goiters can also be surgically removed and do not always recur after surgery. In most cases, thyroid disorders need treatment over a lifetime. However, with treatment most people with thyroid disorders can live normal, healthy lives.

Either she is lazy without any explanation or she suffers from a disorder called hypothyroidism.

With that condition, she would be lazy, have a slow heart rate and a dull hair coat. They may also put some weight on.

Good luck

Normal dog behavior - if they have no real reason to play (or work) usually they sleep 23 hr a day... clearly your family are doing a good job seeing she gets eonugh exersise so she not restless & acking for something to do...
