to anyone who believes in psychic readings??

Question

I never used to but my mum had one done that was so scarily accurate that I cant help but believe in it - the psychic just said things there was no way she could have known unless she had a gift. anyway, she said that my partner would become violent within the next 10 years because of things his parents did in the past (he was beaten by his dad who also beat his mum), my question is, is there anything I can do to change this or is there nothing that can be done to change what the psychic sees??

puppy - believe me, I am as skeptical as the next person, and I really dont want to believe what was said, but this woman didnt even know my mum had a daughter, let alone that I had a boyfriend with a violent past- it was a reading for my mum and there is just no way she was making it up

i honestly do see what you're all saying about them, I thought it was hilarious when my mum said she'd been to one, but it was done over the phone, she doesnt know how old my mum is, what she looks like etc, she cannot possibly have known these things. what is the likelihood, really, of her knowing that this random woman on the phone had 2 daughters, the younger of which lived the other end of the country and lived with a man whose parents had been violent towards him? she knew all this when all my mum told her was her name????

"In the next 10 years" is a very (very) general insight. Further, it's your partner's choice to act out violently, no matter what his parents did or didn't do, so the reading has nothing to do with that one way or the other. Some things are statistically more probable than others - the abused becomming abusers is one of those probables.

Personally, I wouldn't trust a "psychic" any further than I could through one. Between the two, only God is omniscient, so all Satan can do is guess and assume, based on people's actions.

Not one in the history of man being "psychic" has ever proven their abilities.
Why dont' psychics ever win the lottery?
Why can't they "see" their own death or future?
Why are most poor - if they can use their abilities to help themselves? - again, use their abilities to get money(except scamming).
