It depends on how one got pregnant in the first place. If a woman was raped it's very unlikely that she will want that child as it will always remind her of how he or she was conceived.Or some just don't have the money to raise the child so they give him away, some are just scared and left alone by their partner and don't know how to cope or where to go for help so they leave it somewhere they think he will have a better chance of growing and some just panic thinking about their freedom so they take him for adoption

I noticed this with one of our baby guinea pigs that was sick.The mother knew that it was goin g todie and decided not to feed it.Its the survival of the fittest in the animal world. Its the same with magpies.The mother magpie looks after thestrongest and the runt gets nothing.Real humans have feelings towards their babies come what may.Sometimes mother instinct does not always come straight because problems with the birth can hinder the bonding process.

I have no maternal instincts whatsoever when it comes to human babies.
I had good parents, too, so my feelings have nothing to do with the way they raised me. I am an only child, though. I know a few people who are also only children and they don't have much use for human babies, either.
I'm very maternal when it comes to my pets, though. Those are my 'children'.

Many moms don't really have it especially if its your first! Your first is usually your experiment child! But it never hurts to ask other moms! If you go to a good Christan church I am sure there are plenty of moms there that can answer your every question!

It's basically the same as why some people are moral and others are not. Or why some dogs are biters and some aren't.
