ANZAC day is the spirit of Australia, what is more important? It is a day when we do not glorify war. We remember the sacrifices that Men and Women took for others. Selfless act's in the face of a foe. We also remember the fallen, both our own, our allies and our enemy.

It is a day to give thanks to our Military, both past members and those currently serving. The men and women who show us that Freedom isn't Free, it is bought with the blood of others so that we may live in this great nation, in peace.

I am a Sgt. with the Australian Army Cadets, and nothing makes me prouder than helping th diggers on this day. I was honored to carry the standard of the Coastal Artillery and the SAS in today's march. They thanked me for doing this. They, thanking me for carrying a banner, when they have endured the most horrific things imaginable, so that i may live in a country without oppression.

Thank you digger, thank you.

ANZAC day is a most excellent idea. I had the opportunity to be there for the ceremony in Cairns Australia a few years ago. I had not heard the whole story about the reasons for it but after reading about it decided I also would celebrate it as a volunteer.

My participation is limited here in the states to raising awareness around my little slice of the world. I ask all to remember those who waded ashore from small boats in Gallipoli and never had the opportunity to even see the commonwealth (UK) they were fighting for.

It’s a most excellent idea to remember those who serve for others, standing in the gap against a determined enemy.

ANZAC day is for remembering those who faught the wars and never came back. Also for the ones that did, but will have to live with the nightmares for the rest of their lives. My Great Granfather was light horsemen in WW1, and my husbands granfather faught in WW2. It makes me proud to say this as they faught for our country, so that my generation and the genration after me can live in peace. So the ANZAC March in my local area, I try to go to every year. It means so much to my family and myself, not just because of my Grandfather, but also because there was so many who's lives where taken away for the love of their country. So I guess that is what it means to me, to remember the ones that were lost in battle. Lest we Forget!
