Islam is very precise about Muslims keeping themselves clean and smelling good at all times. Islam is a beautiful religion, full of wisdom and harmony. If this wonderful religion is followed properly then a typical Muslim would only be a great example to follow.

Sadly, so many follow culture that very few actually follow the true Islam, and I'm not exempt from that as I am a human as well, but I can do my best. The Prophets (PBUT) applied colognes as well. What do you think of this?

Islam says dont come near pray when u hve bad breath.........Our Prophet (Peace be upon Him) said if its not burden for my Ummah i would make it must to do Miswak(brush).......yet a muslim is supposed to do miswak in all 5 prayers....as its one of the dearest sunnah of our Prophet Peace be upon Him..........Allah like clean people.........in non muslims its common not to take bath after they get orgasm by any means......Islam wants u to take a deep baath asap........a woman is not supposed to go to her husband for intercourse untill she has taken bath after her menses......5 times ablution before prayers is also a kind of cleaning in Islam......not only this fasting in ramadan is infact cleaning of inside abdomen tongue and soul..........Islam wants u to clean hands and mouth whenever u go for eating...etc etc etc.......and in short our Prophet Peace Be Upon Him said.......Hygiene is Half Faith........I think this much would satisfy your question?

Salaams sis

As a Muslim and simply as a person who's been brought up by good parents, believe I should smell good at all times. I do wear perfume outside the house - Oh no! :) I don't take a bath in the perfume but I do put a bit on and also use deoderant. It has been said in a hadith that women should not leave their house with perfume on. I'm not taking this literally but I am taking it as a stern warning to not leave the house reaking of perfume and trying to attract other men. Islam is about intention and it's about understanding. This religion was not made hard for us. In fact it's quite the opposite. And Allah is al Merciful and Knows Best.

Yes, I agree! And although in the Western culture cleanliness is of major importance it's nothing like what you experience in the Middle east. My Husbands Mother basically has a shower 5 times a day for praying...I LOVE the hoses that spray water that are in every single bathroom here...I can't imagine going without it now...
I Like the ritual of cleansing before prayer...It is very Good and I think should be adhered to every culture when praying!
I don't really think that being clean is stressed as much in the Bible as it is in the Quran. The Quran repeatedly says that God loves cleanliness and we should always take steps to ensure we are always clean...From head to foot!!
I had no idea the Prophet put on Cologne! Thank you for sharing that!!

That is very personal question. However, I would like to say that there are many Muslims who smell not good and dirty and the same with christian people. Do you agree?Of course you will agree because this is true.

Do you like to say that there are no Muslims who have bad breath and body smell? No way . Muslims are also humans eating foods which make your body smell specially when you are not bathing and washing your clothes.

I am a Christian to have been mingling with Muslims and I do not like their odor. Somewhat . . . . . . . . . . nothing more to say. I do not want to hurt somebody now but its you who made me so. Sorry.

True, culture seems to be clouding the 'true islam'

but staying clean is common sense is it not?, obviously Islam does stress the importance of staying clean.

I don't think personal hygiene has much to do with what religion you belong to. We Christians don't like bad breath and bad body smell either.
