The question I would ask would be why your boyfriend would bring YOU to a place where this was going on? I have nothing against erotic dancing, but that sounded far more like a live sex show. It seems very insensitive of your boyfriend to expose you to this without asking first if you would like too.
As to why there are girls that would do that the answer is simple - there are people who will pay to watch, and your boyfriend is one of them.
