It is not so much what is said in defense but the nature of what is used as evidence for the defense of religion. It always relies on and boils down to faith over fact.No one can conclusively back up a religious belief to a point that there can not be a reasonable doubt and so thus any prosecution against doubt can not succeed because there is reasonable doubt.

1. A quote from the Bible goes a long way (it's in the Bible...)

2. Because its always been that way (tradition excuse even if wrong).

3. A Pope or religious leader said it and he is closer to God than you...

I've had a few...'because thats the way it is"...thrown at me when questioning hadiths and how they contradict the Quran up down and sideways....so sad.

very rarely i get "but then again I could be wrong about that"...i always like people when they say that...it shows they are openminded for discussion and theres a chance for dialogue

(And yes I'm a religious apologetic myself. cheers!)

You should not question god, god is way beyond your comprehension. He works in mysterious ways, hence you just need to believe and have faith.
