In a potential partner, well sad fact is it is the first thing you see. If I don't know the person already 8, which means then I'm likley to want to approach that person. If I know the person then personality may impress me and looks then become slightly less important 5.

This is my downfall. I'm a sucker for a pretty face. I'd say about an 9. I'm dating a 23 yo ( I'm 28) that lives at home and has zero ambition, and even less money but OMG, he is the most gorgeous person I've ever laid eyes on. I can't take my eyes (or my mouth) off of him:)

Not very. Probably a 2.
Time, age and gravity is going to play havoc with anyone's looks. There are accidents that happen..if the person I love is horribly scarred in an accident, if that made me not love them anymore, I should be shot.
So, I can't give it much of a rating.

I'm a woman. And I ofcourse apprietiate good looks. But I also take a second look at guys who on the surface aren't "good looking" some of my best boyfriends have not been very goodlooing. And I liked them. And I was very poplar in school.

Anyone who said that looks don't matter is lying, because i'm sure that they don't have ugly girl/boyfrinds. Looks are the only thing you have to go with at first, and then as you get to know that person, it as not as important to you. It's not being shallow, it's just the truth.

on the other hand, when someone not so hot looking ,maybe a 5 treats you very well and makes u feel good than it does not matter much!if it is a guy and is a gentleman,brings flowers,spolis u etc....then he makes up for not being too good looking!
