The Bible says we should be prepared for His return and it also says a fool would try to guess when it will happen. Whether He comes soon or not should not matter because anyone can die at anytime. The important thing to ask is whether he comes tomorrow or not and whether you die tomorrow or not will you be ready? Do you know where you'll go? If you die will you be with God? If He comes will you be Left Behind or will you also disappear in the twinkling of an eye?
As for my belief, I know where I'll be because I am ready. Will it be soon? Soon is relative. I think with the way this world is morally deteriorating and technologically advancing and the way the weather is changing that perhaps it could be in my lifetime or perhaps my son's. But I would be a fool to try to figure out God's timing. And truly He is the only one who knows and yes He knows. He knows the exact minute of the exact day that it will happen and He is always on time.

Jesus has already "arrived" in kingdom power.
He is ruling as King of God's Kingdom from heaven.
Being perfect, he has already done the ' trip to earth' to let us know what is required OF US.
He does not need to do that a second time.
We have the Bible and from this we must discern our behaviour.
Matthew 28; 19,20
To discern the date of Jesus' 'return'...Daniel 9;27.
This is 607 B.C.E.
His gaining Kingdom power was in 1914.
2,520 years from early October of 607 B.C.E. brings us to early October of 1914 C.E., as shown on the chart.
CALCULATING THE “SEVEN TIMES”
“Seven times” = 7 X 360 = 2,520 years
A Biblical “time,” or year = 12 X 30 days = 360. (Rev. How, then, is the time calculated down to 1914? Counting 11:2, 3; 12:6, 14)
In the fulfillment of the “seven times” each day equals one year. (Ezek. 4:6; Num. 14:34)
Early October, 607 B.C.E., to December 31, 607 B.C.E.= 1/4 year
January 1, 606 B.C.E., to December 31, 1 B.C.E. = 606 years
January 1, 1 C.E., to December 31, 1913 = 1,913 years
January 1, 1914, to early October, 1914 = 3/4 year
Total: 2,520 years

The count down began when Israel was " born-again" as a nation in one day, and that generation will not pass away before the fulfillment of Christ's return. We have yet to determine what is meant by " a generation". If it's 75 years then the time is soon.

Hosea 5:15 I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.
When the Jewish People as a whole acknowledge their offence of idolatry and seek God's forgiveness, then the Day of the Lord will come.
The 7 years of the restoration of Israel will not be what they are looking for exactly, but in the end the true believers will see the Promised Event take place. Their Messiah will sit on the throne of David in Jerusalem and rule the whole earth for 1,000 years.
As always, the return of the Lord depends soley upon the Jews, not Gentile churches. When the Holy Spirit stirs them up, He is on His way to get us.

According to a book about the Mayan Culture, there has been the year 2012 carved near a supposed landing area which was carved out hundred of years ago. As usual I can't find the book. I am not holding my breath. What ever happen, happens.

Yes, but my idea of soon and God's are 2 different things. I see the world as such a total irreperable mess, but maybe God sees that it has to get way worse yet before sin has run its course. All the signs are being fulfilled, but just how far they have to go yet I don't know. We just have to hang in there.

Yes and these are the signs:
Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
Mat 24:10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
Mat 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
