I do. Pity them. They call us brainwashed. What about them. They don't even have the brain to be washed in the first place. They are dead up there and in their heart. There is a veil on their eyes. I will pray to God that he leads them to the Straight Path, Amen

So if atheists are losers for hanging out on a so-called religious site, what does that make the person who spends time talking about the atheists who are hanging out on said religious site?

I am a christian and I will not say that atheists are losers. If they don't believe in God then that's their prerogative. No one is forcing them to believe. They are the ones who have to answer to God when they die.
There is a saying from a 17th-centruy matheematician and philosopher Blaise Pascal that goes "If I believe in God and life after death and you do not, and if there is no God, we both lose when we die. However, if there is a God, you still lose and I gain everything."
I always tell people I am not religious, I'm a christian and proud of it. There is a difference between being a christian and being religious. Being a christian means to believe in Jesus and being one of His followers, doing what is right by Him and being like Him. Knowing in your heart that He was crucified so that we can spend eternity in heaven when we pass away. Religion is false humility. Colossions 2:23 "These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh."
I have seen people who "preach" to others but don't live up to what they "preach." The only thing we can do for athesits are to pray for them and hope they realize the importance of knowing God and Jesus Christ.

Have you not been taught or read that the only person in the world who is allowed to cast judgement over anyone else is god her/himself alone, and all others who do will be seen as sinners?

I don't feel sorry for anyone, and while I'm not atheist, I do respect their reasonings and decisions for not being religious.

I find that people who look down on others (yourself) just because they have a different opinion and belief, to be the more misguided of people around the world.

No, I don't feel sorry for atheists. In fact, I feel sorry for some of the overly religious people here who try using science to prove their faith while just making themselves look idiotic (not all look idiotic, some actually are good arguments. Most, however miss the point entirely and make themselves look completely clueless), or the ones who seem to try to convert people. Also, those, of any belief, who just ask or answer questions just to insult others. Those are the ones I feel sorry for her. They are the real losers.
P.S. I'm Christian.

R & S is not a religious site, this is a site where religion and spirituality are up for questioning by anybody, I'm sorry for you if are still unable to understand that. Your inability to comprehend something so simple possibly gives us all a hint about why you are a "believer" in the first place.

not all atheists are like that. maybe you've had a bad encounter with one and so you've set your perception of all atheists that way.

i know a person who used to believe in god and is now an atheist. personally, i think she's had too many disappointments in her life and when the worst of the worst arrived, i think she just hung up everything she thought could save her from her tragic experiences - including God.

like i've said before, she could be an isolated case, or at least the minority of all atheists. there are many reasons that could be associated with why atheists make them who they are, but i don't think the right word for it would be to 'pity' them for being in the state that they are in.

some atheists are purely practica; people who live their lives based on facts and scientific hard proof. and to prove to these people that God does not exist... is near impossible.

there are numerous arguements and debates that surround this question of God, demons, and religion. none of which have actually been concluded in a satisfactory manner to everyone.

No. We all make choices, and they're not dead yet. The can still come to the truth. BUT, statements like yours, I assure you, do not meet with approval in God's eyes. You're mocking them and that was never what He intended us to do. Pray for them, keep presenting the truth IN LOVE, and keep hoping they'll come into the fold. But not mock. Shame on you. Time to confess and ask forgiveness. Pride cometh before a fall.

This is not a religious site, it is a Q&A site with a section for religious issues. Rationalist, non superstititious beliefs are just as valid as superstitious beliefs. Actually, our beliefs are more valid because they are not based on ancient mythology or blinding beleiving what a certain culture has taught you to beleive. Counter question: Don't you have something better to do? I thought religious people had all the answers already. You shouldn't need this site at all. Answer your question?

First off this is not a religious site. It is the religion and spirituality section of Yahoo answers. It does not say Christians only or people that believe in god only. This is a forum for open discussion. If you want exclusivity then go to a christian chat room and hang out there.

As far as feeling sorry for the atheists, we are the ones that feel sorry for you, for you cannot see the world that has been pulled over your eyes.

Atheists are believers too -- they believe in atheism. And some of them are just as keen to share their beliefs as Christians. What's to feel sorry for?
