Last night some stuff happened between me and my boyfriend of two years. im so terrified of losing him, and we got in a big fight last night. About 3 hours later i felt just fine and happy again after we made up, so i went to bed. I couldn't sleep at all and all the sudden my whole body just started shaking and my breath was short, and my chest/throat were very tight. I felt scared of something but i didnt know what, i could just feel some kind of fear. I'm pretty sure it was an anxiety attack, anyone know anything else it could have been?

You have invested 2 years in this guy. Two years emotionally, can feel like a lifetime! Even though the situation may have been taken care of, there are residual concerns. Maybe things lingured after you went to bed. You may have diffused the situation and ended a fight, but maybe nothing was resolved for you. It is possible that these unresolved feelings may be the cause of your stress. 2 years is a long time to spend with someone and not fully share your thoughts or fears. The only way a relationship will work is through honesty.
The BOTH of you have to be honest to the point of sickness! Tell each other EVERYTHING! Communicate with each other! There is no hope unless you do!

after a huge fight with a boyfriend and you are afraid to lose him, even though you guys made up your body still felt the stress and so you had an anxiety attack. it is certainly not uncommon especially if you have just experianced stress. i think that all people have them fron time to time when a lot of stress is involved. the best thing to do is rationalize and realize that nothing is really wrong and do some deep breathing and try to relax your whole body. if you feel like you are starting to have them all the time then you might want to visit your doc and see if they can help. but don't worry one anxiety attack doesn't mean that you have a mental illness, and even so there are a lot worse things out there. hope this helps

Definatly sounds like an anxiety attack. I really bad anxiety problems and that sounds a lot like what I go thru as well. Shortness of breath, tight chest, tight throat, tense muscles, and an overwhelming fear comes over me. So pretty much I would assume that is what it was but if you experience anything else go to the doctor. I hope that was of some help.. Good luck and try to relax.

Definitely sounds like an anxiety or panic attack. If they continue over time, seek help. I have suffered anxiety attacks for several years, they r very unpleasant and frightening. Talking to a counselor did not help me as I knew what was setting off my attacks, but I had no control over the sutuation. Medication did bring relief to the point that I was able to talk myself down from the fright when these attacks occur U may never have another, but if u do, know there is help.

Identical thing roughly occurred to me last October. I felt that "Doom" & nothing could make me comfortable. I discovered that it was anything that effected me a very long time in the past & for whatever cause it came back in my mind. I went to my GP and used to be perscribed Cipramil & went to have counciling. Both of these combined helped alot. What i most effective discovered recentily was once that in the event you drink alot of alcohol it effects you relatively badly. I used to be at a social gathering on Saturday night and on Sunday i thought i was going to die (not with a hangover) & this continued up till the day past!! I might not be consuming alcohol anymore.... Good maybe not as so much!! Go see your GP, anxiousness may be very treatable it could take a while but it'll ease & you will gain knowledge of tips on how to get experience of that feeling of panic earlier than it comes to a peak. I hate the sensation so much, its mentally draining. Additionally it is so common you would'nt feel, just say it to a couple of your neighbors & you'll be amazed of so many of them having experienced the identical as you at some time or other. Excellent success & hold possitive.

Add me to the list. I've had them. I taught myself how to deal with them because they weren't considered an illness when I had them in 1971. Do go see a doctor or counselor. Medication may be a big help, and talk therapy will help you prevent them in the future. Find a counselor you like and trust, you don't have to accept the first one you meet.

fear is the root cause of anxiety and panic attacks. you must confront your fear, understand it, fix it, and let it go.

you have a fear of losing him. is it because he treated you badly in the past? did you treat him badly? has anyone from your past treated you badly?

i had similar fear in my relationship. it turns out that my past relationships were terrible.

once i reprogrammed myself to see things as they really were (my boyfriend never treated me badly and i never did anything wrong for him to want to leave) then i realized i had nothing to worry about.

i had to retrain myself to think of my boyfriend not in the context of being a guy just like every other guy, but as being a particular guy: himself.

you may message me. good luck!
