Ah! North, Central, or South? South, Sebastian river and inlet. Central (mostly Cocoa area) Mather's Bridge, Port's End Park at Port Canaveral (stop at Fisherman's World on your way in and ask if the flouder are biting, not that there's not other fish, though). North, Haulover canal on the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, Max Brewer Causeway, if you have access to a boat, Peacock's Pocket, Eddie Creek, Turnbull Creek....
Whereever you are, ask the guys at the bait stores what's eating what where, that's what they're there for, no shame in making them do their jobs. There's "Fishing Piers" all over Brevard on the Indian River Lagoon (as you've probably noticed). If you're lucky, you can catch fish from these, but most of them in my area are just overpopulated by pufferfish.
Also, download google earth, and admire the Indian River, you don't NEED a boat to get to too many good fishing areas. Put on an old pair of shorts and a t-shirt, a pair of flipflops or some other water-friendly shoe and wade out onto a seagrass bed within casting distance from a dropoff, or what they call a pothole (little sandy holes in the seagrass). The average depth of the IRL from Ponce Inlet to Jupiter Inlet is a whopping five and a half feet. If you exclude the channel, it's about four and a half feet. You can walk out in some areas TO THE CHANNEL without having to swim. Just remember, if you don't have your salt water license, you can't wadefish in any more than 4 feet of water, (really restrictive huh?) or fish from a boat.
Now we've also got good surf fishing, but I've never had a decent rig for that......

Yeah what she said^^^
Sebastian Inlet is good fish off the north jetty .But you need good tackle because there are some large fish there. I Fish the beach in Vero at times and catch Pompano and whiting
Fresh water I hear the C54 canal is good as well as Blue Cypress lake and Astin/Garcia(sp) is supposed to be good as well.
I like to use live shrimp for bait at the inlet or finger mullet, They sell bait at the park there and also there is a bait shop off s.r. 510 in Wabasso , They know a lot of good spots to tekll you as well. It costs 5 dollars to fish the Sebastain inlet park but its worth it its pretty there
