It's the same word it's only that the word in Arabic is difficult to write in a correct English pronunciation because there's no equivalent to the first letter "ق" in English and also there's no equivalent to the letter
"آ", so that's why people write in different ways and if I want to write it in French it would be "Koron".

It is not that Muslims doesn't know how to call Quran. The pronounciation is actually Arabic and when you express it in English, the spelling changes according to the speaker. In fact, most of the words in other languages are not well represented in English language. The confusion here on the spelling of Quran is the same. Please visit any link which has a voice representation of the pronounciation for Quran. Once you hear it, try to spell it in English and you will see the reason why.

Have you seen what their alphabet looks like!?
If they wrote it in their own language, you wouldn't recognize it, so it is translated into something with letters we understand. Most Muslims seem to prefer Quran or Qura'an (when they're not writing it in Arabic), but Koran was much more commonly used by those in the Western world--i.e. in encyclopeadias, texts, and other reference books, etc-- until recent years.
So this is kind of like asking why we call Germany "Germany", when they call it Deutschland. Or why we call Spain "Spain" when they call it España. And those are countries whose alphabets at least resemble ours!

It is not that they don't know what to call it and there are no versions of it, it is all because the name is in ARABIC and when you translate the name to English you will be having many choices like Quran, Qoraan, Koraan or Al quraan…. ect. and all the leed to one Holy book that Profit Mohammed brought in Muslims Faith.

The difference in spelling is due to how people translate the arabic word.
Muslims around the world prefer Quran.

neways 2 the asker- its not the MUSLIMS who pronounce it as "koran" we say it as "quran". ever saw a muslim writing it as "koran"??....but u knw we are smart enugh 2 understand tht there's absolutely NO difference if u say it "koran" or "quran"

Muslims know it very well that it is "Quran"...but some non-muslims write it as Koran !!Ofcourse None of our faults!!

"Qur'aan" is the proper pronunciation. The second syllable is a guttural. "Koran" is used by non-muslims.
