I think I act too mature for my age...Or exactly what should I call this? Help...?

Ok, I'm 11. Many people say that I'm too mature for their age and don't really like to hang out with me...I try to act like a 7 year old but it doesn't really help. I started typing because as "cuz" and all those types of things...having grammatical issues, not putting any puntuation. Also I act and talk like...like I'm 20 or something. I bond well with adults, as for children they think I'm weird. Of course it doesn't bother me, they're too idiotic to even care. I had an argument with a 15 year old...and man did I find out how immature teenagers actually were. I'll try and see if I could find the emails again...I deal with issues completely different from other kids. I don't beg or anything like that. I have a job to save up money for college and a nice car by the time I'm 16. I've studied the DAT with my sister (though not intentionally) and don't even to find time (never tried...) with my other friends. I go on children's websites, such as Neopets, and they thought I was like 20..

I had this problem until I was 13... but then I learned to relax. I'm not saying you're a know-it-all, but I was. The first thing to do is...
Don't always offer your opinion. It's bound to be more logical than others, and no one likes it when someone else makes a logical explanation that contradicts theirs. Be quiet for a while and listen. After a while, you'll learn more about the people you hang around with. Then you can relate more to them and talk about stuff they like. They'll then accept you.

Relax. You don't have to be perfect. That's how I made my friends. They saw my imperfections, and saw me as human, rather than Mr Perfect Polite.

Don't always be totally nice to your peers. Burn them a couple times, and let them burn you back. But burn them in a "buddy" kind of way.

Make jokes. I used to be the "quiet genius". No one really liked me. I loosened up and made jokes. Now everyone says I'm the funniest guy in the class. I still kept my reputation for politeness, but I made a lot of friends.

Don't look down on other people. You may be smarter than them, but that doesn't mean you're superior. It sounds corny, but we're all equal, just in different ways.

In conclusion, be human. Have quirks and imperfections, and a definate personality.

Theres nothing wrong with being mature. The problem comes in when you don't want to be around kids your own age because you are so mature. You shouldn't have to change the way you do things, like the way you talk or the way you write, because that doesn't make you any less mature. You just have to spend some time with kids your own age because otherwise you are going to have issues when you get older and not be able to associate with people well. You say that you never spend time with your friends because you don't have the time. I think you should relax a bit. You don't need to be worrying about buying a car when you're 16. Thats 5 years away! Sure, save your money, but don't work yourself to the bone. These are the years when you are supposed to be relaxed and enjoying life. Complications come along soon enough, don't try and grow up too quickly because you'll find that when you get older, you won't have taken a moment to enjoy life and just have fun. Spend time with your friends, have fun, relax and stop worrying so much. You are way too young to be stressing this much!

Well I felt the same way all throughout my "childhood". But there ARE things to learn, and I'm not trying to be rude at all, I swear, but just a word of advice - if you really want to be taken even more seriously when you're older, you should learn not to care about dumb arguments like the one you had with that neopet girl or whoever that was. Things like that happen allll the time and it's in your own best interest to just ignore them, because many times the whole argument itself, not necessarily both of the people, that's immature. Moreover, a mature person doesn't need to have other people back-up their arguments and displaying another person's e-mail violates a lot of privacy of the other person, whether or not he/she was wrong. I'm not being mean or saying anything is your fault here dear, but if you did that in a different situation you could get into a lawsuit or something. So just keep believing in what you believe in . . don't change yourself for anyone, like your grammar (I'm a grammar freak myself and trust me, it comes in handy a lot) and just have faith that you know what you want, at least right now, from your life!

Its not an act, adulthood includes human beings in time, quite the studies on your life will coach you a thank you to be mature. do in basic terms not do to others what you does not choose them to do to you.
