Your cat is making sounds that sound like words. It's not talking by any stretch of the imagination.

I thought I was losing my mind when I heard my cat say hello. It may be just a fluke but for sure one of my cats answers to certain phrases. They have a lot of muscles in their face and can vocalize all sorts of sounds so I guess, like a parrot, they could mimic words. They are also smart enough to connect a sound with an object especially if it is something nummy to eat. I think it is something you have to see and hear to believe it. I wonder why some people think they have total superiority over other animals, is that a type of snobbery or what? Non believers sure miss out on a lot of incredible things don't they? Does your cat watch t.v. a lot, that might be how she picked up those words? So amazing.

My cat says a few words too. I believe you. She just learned to imitate the sounds you use when talking to her. I know it sounds crazy, but my cat makes some sounds which really have nothing to do with normal cat vocalisations, and he does it when he wants the specific thing he's asking for.

Many cats can make several distinct sounds. However, it is individual perception that equates these sounds with words. One of my friends said her cat could say, "Tuuuunnnnaaaa", but the cat was a Siamese and I thought all her vocalizations sounded like "Tuna". For example: I asked my cat when she wanted her treats. She said, "Now". Get it?

My sister's cat says hello when ever my sister goes in to her
room. By saying words that are in a familiar voice to there own
voice it makes it really easy for them to say those words. The cat just proberly heard you say and has now picked up on it!!
It is possible to teach cat's to speack.

I had a cat who said "milk" when she wanted milk and "mama" when she wanted my mother's attention. Swear. But I think they were just different meows for different things she wanted. Maybe she heard us saying things and thought she could communicate with us by immitating our sounds, just like we "talk" to our cats by making meow noises even though we're not sure what they mean.

it isnt saying the word persay , but mimics what it has heard alot , that has gotten him attention , my cat used to ask for milk every time the fridge was opened, he would get a cap full , and be happy .. it used to freak out people comming to our house when they would open the fridge , and there is this cat sitting on top demanding "MILK"
edit , i am currently teaching my JRT dog to say i love you .. and its goin well ... i will get her to do it , and at some point put it up on youtube...

Our cat very definitely said my son's name. No one believed us until they heard it for themselves. However, I have no idea how he does it. I just look at it as though the cat is trying to be as much of a human being as possible.

Your cat is just mimicking the sounds, like a baby saying da da instead of daddy.

My cat has never talked, but she does have certain sounds that she makes that she knows '' I know what she wants, & if she sees me wondering around looking for something, she will meow as if it,s her I,m looking for, it,s cute really & of course she,s one of a kind.
