How do they find out? from taxes... what is the penalty... would I have to pay back all of the money they paid me?,,, or would they just stop giving me disability.......purely hypothetical btw.

Purely hypothetical answer to your purely hypothetical question....

There are a number of ways they can find out. Taxes are one.

You'd have to pay back the money, not just stop getting disability. Might also get fined.

they find out because you job turns in your social security number for taxes. penalty could be jail time and restitution which meens they might make you pay back EVERYTHING they ever gave you including the legit money. It's not worth it. You will never be able to get help again ever.

They'll know as soon as your employer pays his payroll taxes. You'd risk losing your SSI and could be prosecuted for fraud.

Depending upon your situation, you MAY be able to earn a limited amount of outside income. Your local SS office can provide you guidance on that.

first when you get a job they run your social security #.you will get the job and eventually social security will find out.they will prosecute you and depending on how much money you collected it would be a felony or mistimener .they will fine you you will have to pay back the money and depending on your criminal back ground you might go to jail. please dont do it its not worth it!!!
