Anything's possible... ... Likely? Not so much. ... We've invested heavily in detection systems.

Scripture says many have seen angels but were not aware of doing so.
Consider all the school shootings and the serial killers which people and families and others contact, often daily, and do not tumble to any problem.
Years ago I read a book where the writer said reality was passing by us like a newspaper on a speeding press. The whole thing with its vibrations or speed was not readable. He suggested that we look at reality by taking a constant series of mental snap shots.
Given this idea one might consider that we are all missing some of reality in the blink of time between pictures. Then consider that there is nothing to say that we are all taking our pics in the same rhythm. Further each of our pics are interpreted subjectively from experience.
As we discuss our pics with each other; the Webb of reality has moved on at tremendous speed. We have missed many moments forever. None of us has seen all that the other person has seen. And what of other dimensions?
Here are 12 or 13 senses to consider before considering how well we use them, if at all.
Touch, smell, sight, taste, hearing, balance./ body.
thought, emotions, awareness, adventure/ mind & will.
Intuition, conscience, communion/ spirit.

Yes Your self. We (our true self or the soul) is covered by this material body IE, mind, senses, false ego, intelligence, We think we are this due to our false ego and we identify with this body. We are really eternal spirit souls, part and parcel of the Supreme Soul, also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc The Soul (that's us) is so small that is can not be seen by a microscope. It is situated within the core of the heart and permeates the whole body. The Super Soul also known as Holy Ghost (God) is seated within the heart of every living entity and every atom as well. But only a few self realized souls can detect Him. Why? because he can not be seen with the mundane eyes. Only with the spiritual vision can anything spiritually be seen. Self realizations is the process of Chanting the names of God and this process removes the dust from our heart an minds that is covering our true identity and we then can see God and everything as it is in reality. For more information on this process go to harekrishnatemple.co Read Bhagavad Gita As it is BY Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada-its all there.

interesting question.... I do believe that our senses severely hinder our perception of the universe in its "actual" from. Like you said we would not even know bacteria exists without a microscope. Maybe there are things surrounding us we can not even begin to perceive simply because we do not have the ability to exam such things on a "human" level. There are only 5 human senses...but what if there are actually more? Kind of a lame reference..but in the move "The Sixth Sense", the boy can see dead ppl and ghosts. How would we know what senses we are missing since we have never experienced them????

I think we've discovered all the living stuff that is close to us but I'm sure there is a lot we don't know about the nature of that life. Many animals communicate beyond our hearing and have senses far different from ours. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if we were to discover that some have lives richer than ours in many ways. I am also not sure that we will recognize life on other worlds if we encounter it. Our definitions and assumptions are based on Earth conditions. When viruses were discovered, it was hard for many to consider them alive because their method of reproduction was so different.

I know one thing we can't percieve that dogs can. Every few minutes the sun makes a low pitched buzz sound that we can't hear do to its low frequency. Lots of people can't see spirits also which I believe are souls trapped on Earth for their purgatory. And my religion teaches that every single person has a guardian angel to protect us from death when it's not out time. I've only seen my angel once but most don't see them at all. Some people have also been able to talk to their angels.

Our understanding of the universe is limited to those things that we can perceive. There is enough in nature that we cannot explain to show us that there must be more than we know.
Yet there are so very many so arrogant in their ignorance that they cannot admit (because they cannot deal with) the notion that all that exists cannot be perceived by our limited senses.
Personally, I feel that many people have become so limited to their empirical senses that they have atrophied their spiritual senses beyond repair.

I most certainly think there could be things living here that we cannot perceive.
"Everything in our known, physical universe is made up of energy. All the things you can see, touch, and feel are made up of energy. Your computer, your bed, your clothes, your music, your body, other people, trees, the wind, are all made up of vibrating energy. Even the things you can’t see, touch and feel are made up of energy – space, time, consciousness, outer space, subatomic particles, are all made up of energy. Everything in its purest most basic level is made up of energy. We live and move and have our being in a fathomless, limitless, infinite sea of energy."
And this evergy vibrates at various levels, hense why stones are more "solid" that flesh. So with this variation, isn't it reasonablt to believe there is energy vibrating so low or hi it is beyond our sences or perception? This may explain why people see "ghosts" or alians, or whatever it is they are seeing.
"There are shadow beings with genes, genetic mechanisms of different levels of density, some perceivable to the physical form and many only perceivable to the psychogenic form, the psychic form, to the psychic mind."
Crazy? Maybe, but it might explain a few things.

Yes, you're so right. It is one of the four defects of any person here in material world. Living here we (1) are sure to commit mistakes, (2) are invariably illusioned, (3) have the tendency to cheat others and (4) are limited by imperfect senses (http://www.vedabase.net/bg/introduction/en ). It is one of the reasons we cannot really understand the origin and purpose of life by empiric knowledge only. Because scientists try to understand things by exercising their imperfect senses, their conclusions are always imperfect.

Bingo!
It's nice to hear this question!
There is the world of the seen and the world of the unseen.
As consciousness within man increases many of the unseen things will appear as if they are something new. They have been here with us all the time an in our ignorance we could not see the truth within it all.
Wonderful question, thanks for asking!
