It's never a sin to pray whatever the prayer is! Don't give up on God. You are here for a reason. You just need to stick around long enough to find it. Please stay. You are needed by someone. You will miss something. God has so many gifts to give all of us. We just have to ask for them. Anything we truly want and the timing is right. He always answers our prayers. You are going through this for some reason. I don't know what that is but you will soon. Just don't quit. You'll be stuck in limbo. It's a horrible place. If you think this is bad, limbo is even worse. E-mail me and I'll give you more detail.

I don't know. That is an extremely sensitive question that could have many answers. For someone in great physical pain, is it a sin to want out of that pain and be allowed to die..?
Would it be any more wrong to pray for that release than it is for some Christians to pray for the second coming of Christ sooner rather than later? It sounds as if in both instances, release from our present life is the goal.
If however someone is praying to die because they simply don't want to deal with the world anymore...then yes, in my opinion it would be a sin because they are not trusting in God to help them add something better to the world rather than running away.

I don't know about sin but it is not good. You should pray what ever energy I have lord kindly let me use it in your service and always think of You. When it is your will, kindly let me think of you at the time of death so I may return to the eternal spiritual abode and eternally serve you there.
IF you are suffering so much in this material world that you want to die then you have to rely on God more. Never take your own life because one becomes a miserable ghost (disembodied soul) and has to live out the rest of there existence in a subtle body (no senses to enjoy and is always disturbed by other ghosts and practically no one can see or hear you. It is a very hellish existence. Surrender is the only key to happiness. For universal truths go to harekrishnatemple.co Read Bhagavad Gita as it is BY Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada

I don't believe in sin, but I believe that you can be responsible for turning a negative question and outlook into a positive outlook. Not to dismiss you! I've seriously considered suicide and/or hoped that The Great Guy in the Sky would let me die in my sleep, tonight.
But I also believe that it's a matter of where you think your energy should be put. If you can concentrate on putting your energy into thinking about why you should live instead of why you should die, though it will be hard at first, at least your living moments will be useful and more fulfilling.
Why spend your energy wishing you could die when, unless you kill yourself, you have no control over it? Makes more sense to concentrate on feeling better.
I'm assuming you're not wishing you could die because you have a painful terminal illness. If this is the case, then my condolences and best wishes. :o)

Depends on the situation: if the case is that you're in the (very) final stages of a terminal disease, praying for a speedy, peaceful death may not be sinful. It's about relieving suffering. If it's suicide, consult someone within your religious community and it wouldn't hurt to seek medical advice also. In all walks of spiritual and religious paths life holds a very venerable place. My question to you is; why would you want to die real soon? Pray for inner peace and courage: trust that the universe is unfolding exactly as it should. I wish you well and may you be blessed.

It's never a sin to pour your heart out to God. But it's not a good thing to want to die real soon. Perhaps you just need to see your doctor, speak to someone you trust with your feelings. It could be depression and can be treated. You don't say why you would pray such a prayer, but you should seek some help and let someone else help you sort out what ever is wrong. I pray you will find answers to your life and that God will fill you with His peace and assurance. You are valuable to God and to those around you and you must know what a hurtful thing your death would be to your loved ones. God bless and keep you.

Feelings that lead to one parying to die real soon are not an issue for religion, but rather one for counseling. Essentially one who is feeling this way is experiencing suicidal thoughts and should seek counseling to get to the root of the issues that are causing such feelings. No one should ever tell you that you should "take care of it yourself." Such advice is encouraging suicide, which could be a very permenant solution to what is very likely a temporary problem.
If this is in relation to yourself, then seek counseling. Talk to a friend, a pastor/minister/priest, or seek counseling at any state mental health department if you don't have the money to speak to a counselor. If you are attending school, then immediately speak with a teacher that you trust, or go to the student counselor and tell them of your feelings and they will get you the help you need.
Best of luck.

Not really, many of the Bible heros prayed the same thing, but God didnt bring it. There is always something better in store for the people that do Gods will if not in this life then the next to come.
