Ok, Next door a Father lives with his 14 year old son. They do watch alot of movies. But this is my problem.

Yesterday, his dad and him were watching HOSTEL the movie which is rated R, and has many scences of brutal torture.

A couple days before that, they watched A CLOCKWORK ORANGE.

That is also rated R> should I call parenting service for this?

Hello?!Are you insane?First of all it's none of your business what movies do they watch. You aren't married to the boy's father and you don't live with them.Stop spying them.Second, the boy is 14,not 4.If he and his father have decided to watch these movies that's just their decision andyou are NOONE to mess with them. Why don't you get a life and stop messing other people's NORMAL life?

OK, first of all, how the hell do you know what movies they are watching? do you stalk them or something? I'm starting to think if anything they should be calling the cops on you for stalking...
second, who the hell would be dumb enough to call parenting service because a father and his FOURTEEN year old son watch R rated movies? the first time i watched an R rated movie I was 8!!!
Parenting services have more important things to deal with, like children who are beaten, and sexually abused and neglected...
This has got to be the dumbest question an adult (although I'm not sure you've reached adult maturity) has ever asked on this site

The 14 year old is watching it in his own home with a PARENT...there is nothing to call anyone about. The rating clearly states "No one under 17 admitted without a parent or guardian" Well at home with dad pretty much says you're way out of line and would just be plain stupid if you called CPS.

I don't really think that it is your place to be concerned with this. Maybe this 14 year old is matured to a point that his father feels that he can handle movies like these. Calling a parenting service, I think, is petty. Those services exist for kids that are being abused or neglected, none of which seems to be the case here.

That's nice! A freakin nosey neighbor!! Let me tell you something....that 14 year old boy has probably seen worse behind his father's back.....was the dad feedin the kid beer?? Was he smokin pot with em?? Why don't you worry about your neighbor's conduct when there's actually something to worry about!! Do you not have problems and worries of your own to deal with that you feel the need be puttin your nose all up in someone elses business??
Don't mean to sound so harsh but geeze....it's people like u that wind up RUINING perfectly good people's lives by being such a tight a ss!!

As a parent, and at one point being a single father prior to my second marriage I would have been irate if someone called DFCS for me allowing my child which I helped bring into this world to watch a movie that some might find offensive. I would be there explaining to my child why this is just a movie and nothing here in the movie happens and I would caution him he is not to do what he sees in the movie. It's non of your business if he allows it and watches with him and I for one would want to hurt anyone who stuck their nose into my business without cause. Would you rather he beat his kid senseless and be a bad influence on him? I think not.

What were you doing, standing outside looking in their window? Mind your own business. The rating R means that nobody under 17 should watch it without a parent or guardian. Big deal. Most of real life you shouldn't see without a parent or guardian either.

to my knowledge there is no law saying that you cant watch rated R movies with your 14 year old, as a matter of fact you can take your 14 year old into a theater to see them, if they are under 17 they have to be accompanied by an adult, ratings are actually just a recommendation. my question to you is how do you know what movies they are watching unless you are breaking the law and looking in their windows...should change your name to Peeping Tom

i know 14 year olds arent suppose to watch it but i also think that the rule says without parental supervision. Its not a good thing the father is doing but i dont think you have much you can do, Im not sure DCF can do anything especially if watching it with him.

no, The father is the judge of what his son should be able to watch! most childrent these days watch R rated movies WAY before 14!!!! In my opinion as long as he is not subjecting your children in his choice of movies it is NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS.
